@@alex_zetsu Serie said that the 2nd test wasn't suppose to be that hard, and Sense was suppose the final boss of that dungeon, but since Frieren was in the contestants pools, the final boss switched to Frieren clone solo all contestants, literally she alone can wipe a lot of mage out of the dungeon all by herself, Sense included probably, which is unfair imo, and yes that count as smurfing in my eyes.

The timescale of the ban really just reaffirms how Serie and Frieren are the only two people who can relate to each other, at least in this sense. If it was a ban imposed by a human organisation, they'd probably impose something like 10 years ban and think that it shows how serious they are being about it, meanwhile to Frieren that's like the equivalent of a few days or something. Whereas a 1000 years ban actually signifies a meaningful amount of time to Frieren, and shows how Serie actually sees things from the same perspective in contrast to all the humans around.

Frieren's voice exudes calm. She's very even-keeled... or at least she appears that way. Considering how out of touch she is with her own emotions, this is to be expected. She was basically a hermit for several hundred years. Serie raised Flamme and several apprentices over the course of the last thousand years. She kind of is a mom several times over... even if she is constantly disappointed by all of her kids. Her perpetual smirk indicates a certain disdain for the world. While some might confuse that with apathy, you can't laugh at the world if you're TRULY apathetic. Besides all of this, her consistent predilection for human apprentices indicates a strong desire to see Flamme's wish come true. She is in many ways detached from the world, and yet there is so much that she still wants to see from the world. Honestly, her voice reminds me of a mirthless laugh a lot of the time.

If the reason was because Frieren was too powerful to be taking the exam then she wouldn't have failed her promotion to an A Rank mage which she is clearly qualified for and would prevent her from being involved in future exams. Something to remember: frieren doesn’t actually seem to be that good a mage by elf standards. More an enthusiastic collector of weird spells than a dedicated and focused specialist. Remember she still basically blinks when casting spells even though most mages seem to train that reflex away very quickly. It’s likely serie just has much higher standards for someone who has had >200 years to practice vs 20.
