These are incredibly helpful- I took the 65 last week and did not pass so I am doing lots of practice questions and watching your videos/taking notes and making note cards. I truly appreciate all the effort and time you are putting into these explications for us!

may I ask what test prep company you are using? I have used STC and TC and failed twice. Now using Kaplan.
@sarahmartin78382 жыл бұрын
I am using Kaplan- I'm not familiar with the other two you mentioned but the Kaplan question bank has been really helpful. My practice test scores were nearly matched between the last few test I took compared to my exam score. I wish the book was set up to parallel the NASAA outline better but otherwise seems pretty good.

@@sarahmartin7838 Thank you. I used Kaplan for my SIE, Series 6 and 63 but used the other two for the 65 as my company provided one of them. I will say Kaplan in my opinion def the best. I am scheduled to retake the 65 at the end of April. I have to pass this time to be rehired by my company.

What is the Price to Book? Could you make a video on the different ways they could ask to recognize these ratios by word description on test? I always get stumped when I see those on test. I has a question that said market price to accounting value I thought it was the price to book ratio??
@Series7Guru8 ай бұрын
It is the price of the stock divided by the book value.

Hi Dean, I’m following along with the printed PDF and it’s not adding up exactly. The pdf you have on the video says series 66 but the title is 65. I’m sure the tests are similar and it’s not a big deal. Was just wondering. Thanks!
@Series7Guru7 ай бұрын
It is the exact same content and appears the same on both pdfs

Hi Dean good morning, I had a question in the exam about where it asked to select the formula for liquidity, it didn’t have a long or short term and in the set of answers working capital and current ratios and to be honest I did not know which would be of both the best answer so I selected sharp ratio (LOL, which now I get what this is) but which of both would it be? because both measure liquidity as per what I am grasping.
@Series7Guru Жыл бұрын
Current ratio is a better answer than working capital. Therefore, working capital becomes an incorrect answer.

Hey Dean. On the Debt-to-Equity Ratio portion of the video, wouldn't it be $40,000,000 / $90,000,000 because we're dividing debt and total capitalization?
@Series7Guru3 жыл бұрын
It is debt to total capital. But test takers tell me it is asked as I have it here. No surprise NASAA are attorneys not accountants. Low probability you will see it. I have had several CPAs and asked them to debrief if my phraseology does not match test phraseology of debt to equity but performing debt to total capital. No such feed back. If and when will change it. Think I disclose this in the video description.

Dean, I'm preparing for the Series 65 and my copy of the NASAA Specification is June 2023; and it has Types of Risk for Section D. Do you cover it in another explication?

I cover it in podcast series and other lecfures.

Isnt that the wrong formula for CAPM? Expected return? Shouldnt this hav been RF + ((MR-RF)xBeta) making Expected return 17%? And Alpha 19% - 17% at 2%? Same answer but the explication isnt using the right formula for expected return
@Series7GuruАй бұрын
It can be expressed like most math in different formats. It is expressed here as input to recognize on the test. On the test it is recognition not calculation
