Now you're talkin' guys... 🙂. 45110...Our ex-6J Holyhead machine and was a shed-pet, delighted she's been purchased and one day (soon) we hope to see her on the main-line..North Wales Coast to Holyhead....?? Quick mention of DCC Sound...two Zimo 8 ohm 2W speakers installed in the over-priced Acc's Manor and covered with real coal...what a great improvement to the sound...CV63 can now actually, for the first time, be turned down. Terrible model just needs loads of lead-shot in the body-roof...and anywhere else! Let's not forget that it needs a decent and a 5-pole motor. I have two 45504 "Royal Signals" in pristine and weathered...their decoders (ESU V4) re-bllown...a new 45551 "The Unknown Warrior" beckons 🙂 Keep the attention, keep it pro' with sensible explanations and you will increase your following.... Cheers!

We will be covering the Zimo chips and installation in either Part 3 or Part 4, so hopefully you find something in those episodes that help you when it comes to sound improvements, etc. Agreed that a 5-pole motor is far more powerful too.

Cheers for this, if not covered later on would you consider looking at the DCC operation of signals, points lights etc 👍
@hornbymag7 ай бұрын
That won't be covered here in Series #1 however we are planning Series #2 where we will definitely go into those kind of details 😊

Can a dcc model train still run on older dc power system just to run it without the sound/light effects?

If this is intended for a complete beginner to DCC and sound, I think you should illustrate the talk with examples of the items you are discussing and diagrammes of how they connect together. A picture is worth a thousand words.
@hornbymag7 ай бұрын
@@j3xk72r9 Diagrams are not easy for everyone to understand. Part 1 is intended as an introduction, not an installation guide. Part 2 shows in detail how to fit the Hornby TXS decoder to a model and get it connected. It is all done on video with multi-cameras so you can see everything in detail. If you're after a diagram yourself, there are probably many that can be found on Google, however we have aimed to keep this as simple for people to understand and follow as possible 😊

Blimey you were going at 100mph. DCC is a massive learning curve for someone brought up on DC. Ive been digital for 13 years. Still learning after many blown decoders etc. Nearly all DCC ready locos require body or tender off jobs and careful alignment of decoders. If you have poor eyes/shakey hands you better fork out for fitment by someone else. Just a simple demo of how to fit a decoder and running against a dc loco would have sufficed. Easy to drop into the technical stuff when you are way past the preliminary stage. Dont get me wrong I love DCC but went thru alot of perseverance to get where I am now. Just slow down for the novice please.

Hi there. Part 1 was an introduction without installation. Parts 2, 3 and 4 are where we go into slow detail of how to fit the chips, speakers and stay alives. Make sure you subscribe to Key Model World to watch the next 3 parts to learn it all in full detail 😊

Not as hard as you think it is.

@@peterbradford5987I do know as been dealing with DCC since 2010. Just they needed to slow down and less of the technicalities

Hope your going to cover the the locos that are being sold as sound locos for top money but have a very poor sound quality, due to the lack of speaker space. I'm sure you know which these are. I've bought a few and have been very disappointed. These are being sold as factory sound fitted. What a rip-off.

They will never do that. Remember the manufacturers and advertisers own them.
