Dear, All led is about 3v only .. as we connect all 3 led in series each take near 3v .. So voltage is distribute .. Use 9v battery for series connection .. If you have 3v battery then take parallel connection ..

If you wire in parallel, all positive leads together and all Negative leads together, you can power with 3 volt or rated voltage and if there is enough currrent they will turn on

As they are in series so current will be same but voltage will get divided as per the resistance offered by each led If they all have same resistance and voltage will also be same

Dear, if you want to make automatic light off on day , you have to use ldr, and BC547 transistor to make circuit, another way is to use timer module which use to light on in particular time interwal ..
