I love the Sevenwaters series. Read the first three books several times and still love them.

Yaas! The Fever series is my favourite series of all time. I think it's what got me into loving fairy stories. I'd definitely say to stick with it. The first book is quite slow, but by book 3 I was hooked. The world building is phenomenal and there are so many amazing characters, plus an epic slow burn romance.

Omg yes the Sevenwaters Trilogy!! I'm almost finished with Son of the Shadows. It's so beautiful.

Omg Magician. My favourite book and series by Raymond E Feist. I first read the series back in the early 90's. Well worth it. Pug is my favourite but loved Tomas, Arutha, Kulgan with his books, so many great characters.

I really loved the Dragonlance books by Weiss and Hickman. They (along with David Eddings) are my favorite books from my childhood. And though Weiss and Hickman wrote the best dragonlance books there is a shoot off series about the story of Raistlin and Cameron that I absolutely loved.

You may enjoy the Glamourists series. The first book is Shades of Milk and Honey it’s basically if Jane Austen had written magical realism

I am just finishing up the third book in the Drizzt series, Sojourn! For me it is a "chicken-soup" effect of fairly simple, but thoroughly enjoyable fantasy fiction. Also, a few months ago, I picked up a physical copy that included those Dragonlance Chronicle books! First Law is also on my TBR!

Daughter of the Forest is one that has shamefully been on my start list too! Maybe we both can get to it in 2020 🤞

I have so many series I want to start that naming them would take quite a while. I really want to read The Dragonlance Chronicles as well. I have a large paperback bindup of the series so I could potentially binge read them. I loved the Murderbot series! I am currently slowly doing a reread because I love it so much and in anticipation of the Murderbot novel called Network Effect that will be coming out May 2020. The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers was amazing! I plan to read the rest of the companion novels eventually.

Senlin Ascends is one of the series starters that is extremely high on my list of the ones that I want to pick up next year! It has a pretty dang good premise, so hopefully, it will happen 🤞🏼 And the Fever series is also one that I want to check out, since Rachel has been telling me to for years. And Jade City is on my TBR as well! Also, you know I am 100% a supporter of you picking up Daughter of the Forest! I love that book so dang much. I still have to read the second Sevenwaters trilogy though... Dragons of the Autumn Twilight sounds incredible! You’ll have to keep me updated once you do read it.

Omg there are so many on this list that I want to read too! Like books of Babel, malice, Jade city, city of stairs... long way to a small angry planet... so many I want to read! And I don’t think any of these actually made it into my 2020 list of series 😭

I think you will love Murderbot. Even though they are the dreaded mass market paperbacks, you should read the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire. I'm reading the 8th one right now, and I love this series. I like to read them in between epic fantasy books.

oh, I just finished the First Law trilogy and loved it. the characters, if not likable, were so freaking interesting that I really cared about what they did and what happened to them. hope you enjoy it, too.

I read The First Law trilogy, Wheel of Time and The Faithful and the Fallen. They are all great, but for me, The Wheel of Time is in a way in a separate category, because of the whole world that Jordan created. The First Law has great characters

If it turns out you enjoy the DragonLance Chronicles (which I'll be surprised if you don't), you should do Dragon Wing next from Death Gate Cycle. I know I've mentioned that to you a few times but it's so so so so good!!!! lol Love your list!

Anytime you want me to read a book, just tell me it gives you "Firefly vibes"!!! Also, in reference to reading companion-style series, I also like to read them in order, because you can get a better sense of how the author grows into the world they create. Thanks for this video!

I just purchased Chamber’s Wayfarer trilogy. I’d be awesome if you hosted a buddy read! 😁
@zackatk775 жыл бұрын
I don't think that Wayfarer series could have more Firefly vibes if it tried. A girl joining a mismatched crew of ragtag individuals on a ship that could use some work to escape their past and experience adventure in the universe. Well hello Simon Tam and Shepherd Book. 😅 If you have gotten wind of this series, I highly suggest The Mapweaver Chronicles by Kaitlin Bellamy. It's a story about a boy named Fox whose home village is in the middle of a magical valley, but doesn't contain any of its own. However, Fox discovers he has an uncanny ability to sense and hear things he really shouldn't, and in time meets a travelling group called the Shavid who possess different types of magic they use in performances from town to town. Fox's best friend Lai also has an interesting story arch in the second and third books (the series will be 5 books in length [a pentet?)], but I won't spoil that for you. Kaitlin's crafted a brilliant story of friendship and magic and camaraderie that I think you'd really enjoy. I got heavy Eragon vibes reading the first book.

Great combination of old, new, and new to me. I would read the Drizzt books in print order - not chronological. The Icewind Dale trilogy first - the main characters are better represented. Dragons of Autumn Twilight never had a hardback release originally - neither did. The Icewind Dale books. There are decent trade paperback anthologies that would look nice on the shelf. Feists early books are great and there is The Empire Trilogy coauthored with Janny Wurts in the same setting. Manny Wurts then has Wars of Light and Shadow which is great. Thanks.

I’m currently rereading daughter of the forest on audio book I first read it as a child I’m really enjoying it the audio is also good for the character names. I also really like the rift war saga, I’m a decent way into the entire universe Ive read the first trilogy several times ( in Australia Magician is published as one book) do note that much of what you described for that one is from later in the series

I've owned Malice for like three years and have been wanting to read it since reading just the prologue got me out of a slump. But I've been so intimidated by its size. I might end up listening to it on audio along with the Wheel of Time series.
