I would not recommend this BL for a first timer cuz it sets the bar too high. 😂

I can't stop talking about this series to anyone who will listen. I thought it was beautiful. Love Jimmy and Sea! And P'Aof is a genius. The way he can get actors to see his vision is amazing.❤ And now I want to visit the mountain to watch the sunset!😊

The ending doesn’t quite do justice to the quality of the rest of the story. I hate how Day blocked Mhok’s number, and moved on like nothing happened, while Mhok came running back asking for another chance. There is no remorse or regret on Day’s part, and if not for Mhok asking for another chance, they won’t ever rekindle their love.

Man, I have such mixed feelings about this ending. For context, and it feels weird saying this bc I don't really think of myself this way normally, but I'm technically visually impaired. Lost my left eye many years ago, so that makes me literally half blind and consequently much more likely to potentially become blind in the future (either temporarily or permanantly). So, on the one hand, I wanna give a big f*ck off to anyone who might try to tell me that I can't or shouldn't take any opportunity to improve my vision just for the sake of a good story. Losing an eye wasn't character building, it was traumatic and painful and I wouldn't wish it on most of my enemies. If I had the chance to get a new, fully functioning eye, I would 100 take it. My vision loss isn't your inspiration porn and I'm not obligated to lead a slightly more difficult life just bc it's "character building". I think especially in a place where disability awareness and accommodations are so much more limited, it's just as ableist to tell disabled people they should embrace their differences instead of accepting treatment that would make their life easier as it is to ignore them when they ask for accommodations. Buuut, on the other hand, what was available to Mhok was largely possible bc he was wealthy and well-connected. And the story also frames that he was a "good boy", essentially making him go thru trials and then become a respectable member of society before he "earns" a fix for his vision. The vast majority of disabled people do not have that option. They can't grow limbs or spinal cords back. No one has successfully transplanted a fully functioning human eye yet (Mhok only got a cornea transplant) and likely won't for many decades. No one should have to suffer more, especially if they're already in a more disadvantaged position than Mhok was, just to earn an easier life. And stories have sooo much power. Think of films like Silence which literally changed laws and a lot of minds about disability in South Korea. To me, it feels very important that we not frame every story about disability as a journey towards a cure. It's just not realistic and it sets false expectations for how people should treat their disabled neighbors. If all you see is narratives where someone is only temporarily disabled, you are likely to be a lot less accomodating and understanding of the needs of real people with disabilities bc you just see them as temporarily inconvenienced. But, fIf this series had shown Day leading a fullfilling, wonderful life while remaining permanantly blind, who knows how many people might have been inspired to be more compassionate towards the disabled people they encounter in their day-to-day lives. Ultimately, the ending kind of left me feeling like the show was about empty sentiments and pretty cinematography and choreographed cute ship moments. So, pretty much exactly what I expected.

Some of the photos that Day took during his journey throughout this series were actually shown in the ending credits of the final ep.

I loved this series very much - P Aof is a genius. And Jimmy & Sea are masters of their craft. I was very happy about the end because it is one of the the more grown up endings I have seen. When they met again they had matured enough to see what went wrong, to get past it, and to find enduring love and a future together. 💞 I have to keep an eye out for when the box set goes on sale...I will buy this in a red hot minute just like I did Not Me. 🤭

Yes, this is an excellent series, even though there were a couple of things I was less satisfied about (for instance, I didn’t think Mhok needed to apologize for acting out of pity because I don’t believe that’s what he did). But the positives far outweighed the few negatives, and the performances from everyone were outstanding (and though of course Jimmy, Sea, and Mark were excellent, I don’t think enough has been said about how good Namtan was as Porjai). Although I would have been fine with it if Day had not been able to regain his sight, I had no problems with the second operation being successful, because it was already established that he had made a good life for himself as a blind man. And on a totally unrelated note, I disagree that Moonlight Chicken is a sad series. Yes, there are sad moments, especially the death of Gaipa’s mother, but the ending is very positive and hopeful for all the major characters (with the obvious exception of Gaipa’s mother).

I agree with Jovi, the rooftop scene was the best, it was so beautiful, so intense, Sea and Jimmy's acting was absolutely stunning, and I must confess I cried too but as you said, I didn't feel sad, I could felt how Day and Mhok were feeling, at the beach scene, before the kiss, when Day said to Mhok, you're smiling, right? I felt so many emotions that I ended up crying 🥹 I recommend this BL to everyone, it's a masterpiece 🩵💜

I understand the monologue at the end as i am disabled. I need help to go anywhere. Eg i cant get my wheelchair out of the car myself or my mobility-scooter. When i am on the scooter i have my independence which makes me feel like i am living a more normal life, when i have to use my wheelchair my condition makes me extremely tired very quickly, i try to use the wheelchair myself but the looks i get from people is unreal they make me feel different and then after a while i have to have someone push me So my normal is not the same as others and strangers and sometimes people i know makes me feel not normal and different. If i miraculously got cured i would then live a normal life, be able to work, be totally independent, walk my dog on my own again. Go on a beach without getting stuck in the sand, be able to fell walk. Go into any shop as loads are not wheelchair friendly. Life totally changes.

I know that the final episode might not be everyone's cup of tea as we have our own preferences for the ending, but this cannot take away the fact the Last Twilight is a masterpiece The excellence shines through in cinematography, acting, and plot development, particularly in episode 10. The authors delivered a masterpiece, and it's essential to appreciate the overall perfection, acknowledging the impeccable performances by actors Jimmy and Sea. Criticism should be directed towards the storyline rather than the actors who portrayed their roles with excellence. In conclusion, while the ending may not be ideal, the Last Twilight BL series remains a pinnacle in Thai BL, showcasing unparalleled quality in various aspects.

I appreciate the mixed feelings some people have about the ending, primarily the last two episodes. I had some mixed feelings as well, but I felt the show was outstanding overall, and there are different trajectories a life can take, often outside of our control. Your conversation about first BLs at the end was funny. ITSAY was actually my first Thai BL, and UWMA, He's Coming to Me, and Tale of a Thousand Stars were all in my first five or six shows that I watched. None of them were shows that scared me away from watching BLs, though I am a gay man, which likely makes some difference.

'Last twilight' was my first thai BL (I was already more than familiar with korean and japanese shows in the genre and with one or two korean-thai collaborations) and I truly loved it, was very impressed, didn't expect such a story, good chemistry and acting. Honestly, I jumped into it a little reluctantly, mostly 'cause of the "new" language, so different and a lil odd to my ears compared to the asian languages I was used to from other shows, but Jimmy and Sea did such a great job with everything, especially with the emotions, backgrounds and sensitive themes they had to portray, so yeah they truly caught my heart and attention and brought me fully to embrace the thai BL universe too (I know the thai BL industry is probably the biggest one in Asia, but hey, at least I got here eventually, even if a little bit late lol ^^) Great show! And yeah, I agree, it's not "sad", there's hope! But yeah, it's emotional... :) * for the record, the following thai BL I watched was 'Only friends', so yeah....😅 quite the jump 🤣🤣🤣

I envy you for not finding this series traumatizing or even sad because I cried during like every episode 😂 Sometimes it wasn't even because I felt upset, but because it was just so emotional 🥺 Maybe I'm just to sensitive 😆

In Thai Jimmy’s character name is spelled as หมอก so Mhok is accurate.

I'm disappointed with the ending, not because I wanted a sad ending, but because the last episodes didn't have the same level of quality as the rest of the series. To me this could have been a 10/10 series, but the end took down that score. Having said that I still love it, and it is definitely the best GMMTV has produced so far

@@oscarsm86 I heard that at first time they had sad ending where Day still can not see but the happy ending was finally selected to the show.

I feel like sad ending/Disney ending isn’t the only choice. Day could stay blind and still be happy - I mean we’ve already seen him falling in love, having adventures, running a bookshop, and all of these happened before the surgery. He could regain his sight and still struggle while trying to adjust to his new reality. It’s not black and white, and hope can mean a variety of things
