Hi Dean! I hope you're well! I watched several of your SIE videos this past fall and winter in conjunction with my STC study materials provided by my employer and I'm happy to say I PASSED on my first attempt in December of 2023! I don't think it would have been possible without your help, thank you!!!!! I'm writing to ask for your guidance and for a strategy on how to proceed with studying for the Series 7 exam. Since January of this year, I've already read the entire STC Series 7 book, have listened to some of the chapter lectures, taken 10 question quizzes on every chapter, and have taken 5 full length Series 7 practice exams. Unfortunately, none of the 5 exams have been close to passing scores (the last 2 exams I scored the highest on, 56%). In between all of this, I've been watching some of your Series 7 videos and other KZbin resources, but I'm afraid the content just isn't sticking with me. My original goal in February was to take and pass the Series 7 by the end of June, but I'm having less confidence in this timeline now. As of my most recent exam attempt, my weakest chapters from the STC Series 7 book are chapter 6 on corporate debt, chapter 16 on fundamental analysis, and chapter 10 on variable products. I feel like I'm starting to get more about options, but a little more review wouldn't hurt. Any suggestions on how to proceed or how to plan accordingly so I can meet my original timeline? Thanks so much for your consideration and all you do!

Hey Dean, here is a Microsoft Word shortcut... When you spell a word wrong and it is underlined in red, you can use your mouse to right click on the word and it will suggest spellings. Just click the correction and you are done! Sorry if you already knew this.

Why are we still using t+ what ever for settlement dates? The technology is already in place where these things could be done almost immediately? Is there a real reason other then that’s how it has always been done? Also is it possible to set your own price on bonds regardless of market price? Can I set my own price for example the current price of a stock I own is selling at is 1 dollar per share can I sell it my self at .99 per share?i if so would the market adjust to lower the stock price as a whole to drop to 99 cents instead of a dollar for any buyers? And if it is possible would that be a way to lower the price of the stock for everyone for a small amount of time? Not saying it’s a good idea just asking if it’s possible? Thanks

They are moving towards real time settlement. You can set your price but nobody has to do business at your price so they may or may not be a contra party.

The test does not test on notes. It tests on secured debt, unsecured debt, preferred, common. Senior to junior or junior to senior. Senior notes just means senior to other notes in that debt class.
