As always, you and Brian (watched his videos) always explain things great. Kaplan was killing me with their questions, but this helps a lot. Going in for my Series 7 in January. Thanks to you guys, I'll complete the SIE, Series 63, Series 65, Series 6, and Series 7, all in one year! I'll bring some hand rolled cigars for you, from Tampa, next time I get to Vegas.

Hey Dean, are you a Marine? I am currently in the Investment Specialist Trainee Role here at ML. I love telling others about you, but also its good to hear others speaking about you too, and even my Manager who lives across the US from me. I am taking my Series 7 Monday. Thanks for all you do!

Indeed. Once a Marine always a Marine. Looks like you have served the Republic too.

Dumb question but How do you easily identify which one is the money in and which is the money out when first analyzing the contract? # 2 credit or debit Thank you
@Series7Guru Жыл бұрын
In the money or out of the money is about the relationship of the market price to the strike price not whether the difference in the net premiums is a debit or credit. Lower strike calls alwsys have greater premiums and higher strike puts always have greater premiums.

I'm struggling with how to determine if a spread is a debit or credit. I have a brain block happening! What video would be best to review this information?

Do u have a video discussing cost basis and sale proceeds?
@Series7Guru2 жыл бұрын
Here is my taxation video kzbin.info/www/bejne/in2keKelp7Wqb8k cost basis is what you paid for the investment and sales proceeds is what you received. If I buy 1,000 shares of Apple at $170 a share that is my cost basis. If I sale at $190 per share is the sales proceeds. That would be a capital gain of $20,000.
@cmyhaver84482 жыл бұрын
@@Series7Guru I get practice jerkins that have options and then have answers with both sales proceeds and cost basis among them and I seem to always answer wrong.
@Series7Guru2 жыл бұрын
@@cmyhaver8448 for the most part cost basis follows breakeven for options. Not a big deal on the actual test. I buy an AAPL 170 call for 9. I exercise. Cost basis is 179.
