Took my S7 today. Pulled what would have been a nightmare draw had it not been for watching this video this morning. This video made everything click just at the right time. Dumb question but How do you easily identify which one is the money in and which is the money out when first analyzing the contract? # 2 credit or debit Thank you

In the money or out of the money is about the relationship of the market price to the strike price not whether the difference in the net premiums is a debit or credit. Lower strike calls alwsys have greater premiums and higher strike puts always have greater premiums.

If I buy 1,000 shares of Apple at $170 a share that is my cost basis. If I sale at $190 per share is the sales proceeds. That would be a capital gain of $20,000.

@@Series7Guru I get practice jerkins that have options and then have answers with both sales proceeds and cost basis among them and I seem to always answer wrong.

@@cmyhaver8448 for the most part cost basis follows breakeven for options. Not a big deal on the actual test. I buy an AAPL 170 call for 9. I exercise. Cost basis is 179.
