Serious Criminal Activity in Mayfield - "Leave it to Beaver"

Judging by the headline in Ward Cleaver's evening newspaper, the sleepy little 1950s sitcom town of Mayfield is not as idyllic as we are led to believe.

They always say the Cleavers live in Mayfield, without ever clarifying which state. But in episode #130, the 13th episode of season 4, "Beaver's Accordian" Ward makes a remark about Shaker Heights & later the representative from the accordian company makes a remark about Cleveland. Therefore this Mayfield is in Ohio.
