I live in the US and I don’t even understand. Why people don’t want stronger gun laws….ban assault weapons and have stronger background checks. I live in Texas and my brother in law owns a AR 15 rifle…I asked him why do you have it (he has kids). He hunts but you can’t use it for hunting so he never uses it. His answer was just to have one. So I don’t know…why own one🤷♀️

I had 2 friends visit S. Korea and Japan both both said one of the first things you will feel about both countries is you always feel safe. Guns, gangs and drugs are really huge problem in the U.S. all the laws are making it very difficult to buy a gun but the bad guys care care less about laws as they buy stolen guns. I really believe if you ask a lot of city dwellers in the U.S. if they feel safe going out at night they would say no.

Hi from Florida. Yes it is true that gun violence continues to be a problem here in the USA. The Second Amendment to the Constitution ( the right to bear arms) and the extremely powerful and wealthy National Rifle Association both make it very difficult to ban assault weapons. My grandchildren must go through regular active shooter drills at school. When there is a shooting almost daily, something is very wrong. At the same time, I feel very safe in my city. I rarely go out after dark, but even when I do, I’m not afraid. I hope we can find an answer to prevent more innocent lives from being taken. Thanks again.

It's sad that drugs and guns are affecting young people 🙁

Thank you for your take on the Korean situation. I think I just assumed that in such a well ordered country these problems would be insignificant but if drug use is becoming more prevalent then the use of firearms will inevitably follow irrespective of whether they are legal or not. People who use drugs become addicted and dependent on them and then they will go to any lengths to acquire them, pay any price and a spiral of desperation is capitalised on by the gangs who supply them which results in violence which escalates into the eventual use of illegal firearms. The drug gangs do not apply for a licence to carry the weapons they use on the streets. Guns don’t kill people - people kill people and a society that succumbs to a prevalence of drug use will inevitably destroy itself not just by the illicit use of firearms but the very fabric of society breaks down, its family life, cultural norms and rule of law. Thank you for your video, you have a compelling way of presenting the subject matter under discussion.

according to that graph firearm deaths rose from 4-5 to 6 per 100,000 since 2000.

These statistic are true. I live in a very rural area in the U.S. and things felt fairly safe until a couple of years ago. Just last week, near my house, a man on drugs drove into a house (which burned down) and was firing off an assualt rifle as he walked up the road. Last year 17 people were killed in mass shooting miles from our town. I can't even go to the grocery store without being approached by someone who is whacked out on drugs. I went to the Laundromat and there was someone living behind the washing machine. Things are crazy....😢

Wow, a video about my neck of the woods. Yes, it’s pretty crazy here. Honestly, there are pros and cons to everything, even being a very free nation, like the U.S. I think there is such a thing as being “too free”.
@alanarifuku3500Ай бұрын
That’s a great statement. I have felt the same way but people think I’m crazy for saying that. You know what’s crazy judges in California probably get paid $250,000 just to turn crazy people loose

The U. S. have to revise the laws about guns and drugs. It’s a very bad and growing issue that nobody wants to addressed.

It is horrible here! The powers that be have even legalized it in some areas. So sad as I have to deal with some of it in my work and there is very little that I can do about it.

I hate to see kids die needlessly. Especially by guns. Gun in unsafe instances can raise the rate of mortality. An interesting thing is the rises happened around CVID. Not saying that CVID is the reason for death but how people where stuck in the house with people and just losing their minds. They couldn't manage their emotions and even Domestic Violence was on the rise.

A person should take an increase/decrease in the Child Mortality Rate over a wider span and at 1:45 of your video it shows in 1970 at 70 deaths per 100,000 to 2022 at 30 deaths per 100,000 people. By your own graph this is a immense DECLINE in child mortality. We can get fixated on a single year or two however that would be too small of a data set to make fair or logical conclusions, taken in a wider span of time the trend is quite telling in that the US child mortality rate has been tremendously improving. Things are not perfect however as the US is one of the only industrialized nations without universal health coverage, leading to significantly higher negative outcomes compared to other industrialized nations. Cheers.
