POV: you're enrolled in ILC's gr.11 environmental sciences and you're just learning about deep lake water cooling in lesson 4.4

whoever did the video editing did a horrible job. I can barely hear the guy talk over the annoying repetitive piano riff.

Does changing lake water temperature has an environmental impact on the lake ?
@robmausser Жыл бұрын
no because they dont change the lake temperature since none of the heat is put back into the lake.

He said the rates are based on "DPI". I need to ask the dumb question here, but what is DPI?

I believe it would be more efficient if we harvested the water from the bottom of the Lake and circulated it directly within fan-coil units for indoor heat absorption. Obviously that has the drawback of causing galvanic corrosion if dissimilar metals are used in the circuit, and the absorption of energy through radiation/friction once it reaches the FCU, but they can be solved through using only one metal throughout the system, and the use of "booster chillers" to chill the water, only using a fraction of energy than a conventional chiller.

The system has to be non contact or the drinkung water supply may be contaminated. Raw water cooling systems have to be based on heat exchange. Because people are shitheads.
