How does it compare with features and usability of Waveform Free?
@AudioTechTV3 жыл бұрын
@@igorrogi4368 The core features are very similar in both. The workflow is different. I find that Waveform's workflow to be faster and easier to navigate. The included FX in Cakewalk are different, it's hard to say if they are better. It kind of depends on what you're after. If you want a great guitar amp sim, Cakewalk has that. The Breverb plugin built into Cakewalk is also an incredible reverb plugin. The cakewalk instruments are alright but if you want a synth and 808 style drum machine then Waveform has that. They are both great programs. I find myself going back and forth between them all the time. It all comes down to what you are more comfortable with using. both options are great. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍

Can I upload my costom fx from bandlab to cakewalk
@russellsimienii93433 ай бұрын
@@Prod.KingLilGabeMusicYes. You can interchange projects between Bandlab, GarageBand, and Cakewalk. Just go to your share and save options and work it from there and I even have other apps that I use to interchange between those top three dogs. Just save all your progress as u go and then share between the apps with your share options. I'm not sure if you're using an iOS or Android. I use Samsung (which is Android) mainly, however for GarageBand (or Pro Logic, which is to GarageBand what Cakewalk is to Bandlab, altho using all 4 is still the most OP way to use them all), u have to have an iOS device, and that's the only iOS device I use in my music productions. The reason I brought this up is because the save options are different with iOS vs Android or traditional PC, and really, in my opinion, the options are very limited in comparison. One of the reasons I'm not a huge fan of iOS. But anyway, that's a separate story and separate gripe. I'm really an Android head due to the versatility that it allows. But yea, bottom line: constantly save your work no matter what platform or app you're using, and then share between the apps and you can use them all to make an awesome work. Free game

The new Cakewalk by BandLab is even better than the last version of Cakewalk Sonar. If you have subscribed over the years you will still be able to use all of the plugins and effects that cam with the original versions of Cakewalk and Cakewalk Sonar. This DAW is up there with the best and it is incredible that BandLab provide it for free. There are no catches. It is FREE.

Another Con I have found are the various bugs that seem to appear with every update: plugins don't work or settings won't save when you close your out, Plugins crashing system, My favorite was repeated crashes while attempting to unfreeze midi tracks for further editing. The developers are certainly motivated to learn about these glitches and fix them. Another con I have found, regardless of your statement about it being gentle on resources, is having to play the damned Buffer game the further into your project you get even if you only have the ProChannel on the tracks. That being said It's still powerful and incredible and it isn't as if the Big Boys have not experienced huge crashes using PT in the middle of a huge session.

Btw th3 amp sim is really awesome, BUT it's limited in terms of free trial. You can only use it for a I think certain amount of days, and then it limits the majority of the rest of the amps and pedals for like 30 days or maybe more unless you pay for it. At least that's what happened to me. I lost all my amps and effects on a couple guitar tracks because I didn't pay attention to that detail and didn't want to pay for it yet.
@AudioTechTV3 жыл бұрын

@AudioTechTV3 жыл бұрын
@@givejah610 what might be happening is you’re trying to access banks that are available in the demo version which the Cakewalk version allows you to do and can be confusing. If you go into TH3 and in the “Banks” area you’ll see something that says “see all” you want to make sure that is unchecked. If it is checked then you will see stuff that isn’t accessible in the Cakewalk version and it will be in demo mode. In the Cakewalk TH3 you have access to 5 banks if you check that see all feature you’ll see 34 banks but most of them are greyed out. And that’s the same thing with the other side of the interface in the “items” section you’ll see that “see all” button again and if it’s checked then you will see gear that you have to purchase additionally or use in demo mode. But you still get a ton of amps and gear in the cakewalk version that covers a wide variety of genres.

Been lookin thru 20+ videos for why my output skips when I play thru a speaker or even thru my laptop. Permission on a midi controller or midi mic are incredibly annoying. The only ONLY REASON people should use cakewalk is because it's free and a great prototype program before you use a real one like logic or pro tools but honest opinion on it 3/10 way to much work just to record

For a lot of people this program works extremely well.
