How interesting as an Anthropology student I have been interested about internet cultures and the evolving sociality in gaming and this is an amazing place to start looking. We need more of this.

As a digital anthropologist...this is great. The concept of Netnography, doing online study of human cultures was created by Canadian anthropologist Dr. Robert Kozinets, who literally wrote the book on it.

“Took about 5 minutes to convince them” yeah because you’re Daniel Miller! I’ve had entire classes practically dedicated to the research of this guy. Also it is a super interesting field and platform to study people from

I think this should be more focus on the way the ideas are spread out and how thinking actually works. Not just what are the effects of social media in communities... anyway, it's an interesting topic. I would check the books they are going to publish... Thanks!

Digital technology cultures are very interesting. Technology and digital technologies are human tools, extensions of self. We are cyborgs alongside all technology especially the digital tech. It's very important to understand the impacts. I am currently doing some reading into self tracking devices and if they are as beneficial as we think they are. I think the answer with digital tech and us is always the same and that is that both negatives and positives are always happening at the same time. And we may not have advanced as hugely as we think we have, rather we've just changed as humans. The activities that go along with self tracking and even posting the data on social media is a new way of doing stuff we've always done, just now there is a tangible record of it we can use.

Create the solidarity of community in some cultures and societies but not in others. Do we aspire to solidarity or not? Who does? Why do they?

This guy represented himself as an expert on visual communication, but all he provided was a lazy-assed 14 minutes of talking head. How does anyone with any knowledge of visual communication not see the problem with that?
