It's no wonder Yuan Shu became weary of Sun Jian. I always thought Yuan Shu was just being snobbish but honestly I can see why he begins undermining such a valued lieutenant as Sun Jian. Honestly if I had an underling with a reputation of using sneaky (if not outright dishonorable) ways to kill unsuspecting allies for some small transgression, I'd too would want to keep them on a tight leash.

@@fundur2816 that, but it could also mean that by staying on his good side, he would be essentially be blackmailed to support Sun Jian or suffer a similar fate as the previous guys. Not a good position either.

Yuan Shu had no authority to grant such a position lol the exact same could be said for his promoting himself to Emperor of Zhong. Winners are Kings, Losers are Outlaws!

Hmm he could have handled the Nanyang administrator differently but i can't really fault Sun Jian for the deceit. His army is his responsibility and ensuring that they are well supplied and well fed is a commander's first duty to his men. Followed of course by not sending them to their deaths. So far we have two strike against Luo Guanzhong for stealing Sun Jian's feats and crediting them to Shu characters. Strike 3 will be fighting Lu Bu? or did that happen in the battle of Yangren?

Hmm 🤔 so strange. I recall from d book 📚 he later joined forces w yuan shu against yuan shao n liu biao, but I guess 3 kingdoms is like King Arthur . So many versions of d same incident. Ok 👌 we’ll juz go w that.
