Correction at 41:10 you don't have to do any battles with them at all. If their factions get defeated by the AI you still get the bonuses. I remember my first Sun Ce campaign, I had Sun Ce camping outside Huang Zu's last settlement for 20 turns waiting for him to spawn while my spies were assassinating his family but the damn coward kept hiding....until YTR came out of nowhere and captured his settlement. I was so pissed for about 5 seconds before I got the notification that I fulfilled the mission lol

Love that you are going back at it your 3k guide was the reason I started playing. For the campaign, you could also trade with per-turn income to vassals of factions for items and then declare on their liege to break the deals. In this timeline there are four factions that has 2-4 vassals each, so you could potentially be ancillary rich from the very start.

Really, really love your 3K guides. Good, if not the in my opinion optimum, decisions taken in this one, and everything is explained and motivated : rebelling early, to keep the seal for your mother, as heir, but more importantly to keep legacy points from decreasing for as long as possible, for the juicy bonuses! When I first played the campaign, I went to conquer the blacksmith town to the East at turn 2, thinking I could delay and weaken Yuan Shu's retaliation with scorched Earth tactics, but in hindsight your strategy of racing South to take the fishing village is better. Makes also more sense historically not to fight your own uncle. Anyway, like clockwork precision, this guide is very pleasant to watch and learn from. Thank you.

For shared expertise they don't have to be in court positions just being at the level requirements will give points. Also prolly should of showed the untrustworthy hit for rebelling and explaining how diplomacy would be affected plus how long as well.

Wish there was a mod that makes Sun Ce a playable faction in 190 -Permanent ally of Sun Jian. He does not die young when playing as Sun Ce in 190 -Reckless Luck doesn't go down until 194 -When Sun Jian dies or either one reaches King Sun Ce inherits EVERYTHING from his father -Very easy but very fast and very fun campaign Sun Quan should be playable in 200 as an ally of Sun Ce

I think u can use another trick. After battle with Lu Kang, recruit Cheng Pu using Sun Ce, and then split them. Cheng Pu still gonna have movement

You can still get maximum legacy even if Sun Ce dies,if I'm not mistaken. The only thing you lose are Sun Ce himself and a few related challenges for himself,the first one with duels,commanders and battles. The second one is the three siblings at Rank 5 or higher and..hmm..there was another one. But even if he dies you can still get Reckless Luck positive change. I believe he's the only one with a beneficial resource even when empty. I.E Yuan Shu,Fat Dude,Bandit Waifu,Yuan Shao..

I always open with an arranged marriage with Yan Yu (which sadly got more expensive with the latest patch ruining ancillary item values). Then engage Yuan Shu with just Sun Ce, Huang Gai, Cheng Pu, Zhou Yu, and Yan Yu. Mending goes a long way especially since Zhou Yu is a legit fighter too with double HP and Unbreakable.

3 years late to this party but i actually have my own set up here with gets freedom from yuan shu on turn 1 without any risk of war, just by giving them lady wu and the imperial seal alongside supporting his legitimacy and setting up a trade deal! It all works very well and you come out with more income to help you invade the south. Imo loosing Lady Wu isn't that big of a deal if you're not using mods like MTU. I'm on turn 37 and I'm at a point where my luck faction mechanic is at a 0 decay, i've conquered most of the south west, and i'll be turning my forces towards changsha shortly while grabbing everything i missed and taking out what remains of wang lang who I fought earlier. Love this characters campaign on the 194 start, always feels like such a scramble to take everything out quickly!

This Guide is very good if all tha Ai leaders in the game dont declare war on you and send 10 different armies down to attack you on turn 6 and Yuan Shu having 3 different armies just completely steamrolling you and your economy hasn't reached -2000. Then yes this guide is verry good and Sun Ce start is really easy

Sun Ce is broken campaign for senior players, but quite hard for newbies in my opinion. At least first 2 campaigns by him was hard for me, but when you rembered about mercenary mechanics, so you got tons of money at the begginig. I f you want some chalange in this campaign, then just show Yuan Shu middle finger and don't give him Hefei))

good job dude, like i requested, don’t give seal and city. I literally rebel 2nd turn. Yuan Shu isn’t hard when you use 6 generals. Emperor favor will hit very hard, I always end up 0-30 points or so, but Sun Ce is closest to farm Naman faction to ease the favor points. You can actually recruit general on Sun Ce army, and split the mom and she will have fresh movement energy. No need to spend the extra 900 cooper.

So following this guide step by step somehow makes you -31 treacherous after declaring independence from Yuan Shu. -15 from declaring war after breaking deals, -11 declaring war after signing vassalage deal and -5 breaking deals after signing them. So I want to know if this is still viable.

Oh wow didn't realise you can do that with mercenary units. Can just recruit them and swap them out for imperial units so can just instantly move at the late game.

@@SeriousTrivia I actually just let Sun Ce die in one of my campaigns to see what would happen. The answer: nothing. The game continues on as if Sun Ce never was there in the first place. 50 turns later, with Sun Quan as my faction leader, I once again completely filled the luck meter, or destiny bar- whatever it is.

Maybe you're not a fan of "looping"..... You set this one up so that Lady Wu will be the looper defending Luijang, but she (or maybe I should say: her horse) seem to be too slow to stay ahead of some of the generals that Yuan Shu sends after that town. I could not stop some of the attacking army from going into the town, but every attempt to bait them back out caused her to end up being caught by at least one of Yuan Shu's generals. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to find her a better horse? Or should I use someone else as the looper? Thx.

so you should just let them stay inside and wait out the timer or you can have her encamp right outside which means draws would become wins. Do not try to lure people faster than you out....

it gives a -3.1 in all deals so it does hurt, but it does go away one point a turn so in the early game, you just will have a hard time making friends but by the mid game it will be gone (also as Sun Ce, you are strong enough to just fight everyone off early so it matters very little)

I wasn't sure because I feel like in some campaigns I stay at -forever especially those kinds of numbers I also thought I read somewhere about a glitch where in some cases it only comes down 8 doing a sun ce campaign except I gave accessory away and city because some chars (like ur mom) come with some good accessories and married yuan shu daughter she also comes with some good buffs/accessories. And ofc married mom to ma chao. So far taking every place with just all generals lol didn't realize u could do this until ur vid smh so fun haha. Waited until one turn right before it asked you to betray him and asked for vessel release. Doing all this makes him super happy so he doesn't take heir and I get no negative diplomacy

@jamesc6112 some treachery events takes 5 turns to go down 1 point (as in the case of when you annex a faction when you promised them autonomy) while most are 1 point per turn like breaking an existing deal when you declare war on them. Ultimatums are also punished harder with the 5 turn per point so it does depend. It’s not the biggest deal either way since diplomacy falls off eventually as you expand and eliminate other factions throughout the game so I wouldn’t sweat it too much.
