Hey SerpaSquad! I hope you all enjoyed seeing this tank now and the fish I chose. Let me know what you think! Also, if you have suggestions on a few other fish I could add let me know. Lastly, what should I do with the empty 150 cube aquarium? The possibilities are endless! If you missed the build series, be sure to check out the link below. It outlines the entire process! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6LGiauZbdeKh5Y

For the 150g, you could do a saltwater community reef tank. If you dont wanna go the saltwater route try a freshwater potato puffer fish or fire eel. They are pretty personable and would make a great addition to the tank.

You in the cabinet cracked me up lol you should do a shallow brackish mangrove tank with archer fish and crabs or go full salt and keep it a shallow/tide pool tank and keep the mangroves. Idk why but something about the height of that tank says mangroves to me.
@SerpaDesign4 жыл бұрын
I could see that! I definitely need to capitalize on the height of the tank in some way.
@JoeNoodle4 жыл бұрын
I was picturing the same with the addition of bumble gobies and mudskippers. I like the idea of crabs too. Not many folks have done tidal tanks to simulate low and high tide. I figure it would be cool if Tanner could set it up with fiddle crabs being able to burrow in sand. I was going to build a tidal tank but ran out of room to build one.

Idea for the tank: instead of a peninsula I would love to see some type of hill in one corner, which would allow you to build a cave underneath that is only visible from one side (and theoretically the back)

Paludariums are the solution to the " I can't really decide if I want my terrarium or my aquarium " problem. The larger it is, the more stable and self-sustaining it will be. I've had in mind, everything from - a jelly jar, - to something a bit bigger; the room in your house, where one side is devoted to 18 by 8 1/2 ft. And of course it need not be only fish. It can get kinda crazy though. They're beautiful. They build some real show pieces I seen abroad. Go at it not just as an aquarist; but as an artist, ecologist, plant-freak, and everything that turns-you-on. Your finished product will reward you very well.

That 350 gallon is certainly the most incredible piece of nature I have ever seen behind glass, great work! Hi Tanner, the paludarium looks so lush and grown in, I can't believe it's so newly set up. With the lighting challenge, I think the best way to film it is to set up some diffuse or ambient room lights for the purpose of filming the water, while dimming down the overhead lamps temporarily. As long as it doesn't spook the fish, of course.

The 350 tank looks amazing. Almost something you would see at a public aquarium. Even though you said that it’s not a South American theme, I still imagine it to be so - well except from the Gurami fishes that are native to Pakistan and India I believe. To me the 350 looks like some slow moving backwaters or tributary of a main South American river system The 150 tank I love to see a heavily planted jungle style aquarium with leaf litter, driftwood and dark substrate filled with one of my fav little fishes - the Ember Tetra fish

Tanner, one thing I have found works well to help with exposure issues while shooting tanks is to get some light diffusing fabric and layer it a few times under the lights, which helps to make them a little less intense. You could also get some little LED panels to put on either side of the water feature, just for filming. (Both the fabric and the LED panels would only be used during filming, and would be absent most of the time)

I would LIVE to see a saltwater Hawaiian 🌺 themed tank with a small volcano in the middle , we’re building a coffee table fish tank but I think we’re going with fresh water and a more mangrove look to the set up, but it’s not feasible for our tank Love your 350 setup!! So calming! I dig the more natural setups for sure, even though darker viewing, it’s more like actual nature
