Looking at his kit. I would not be surprised if they wanted to make him the first 5 star welfare. They already did it in arcade. Even in arknights they sometimes have a 6 star welfare. Getting a 5 star welfare after so long would have been pretty cool and a really hyped moment.

Iori is like a ST Emiya. He covers offense and defense, and can be helped by a wide variety of supports. But I’d argue he’s great because he doesn’t have the weaknesses of Emiya and the awkwardness of having different supports help him.

Being the main Master of F/SR I’m surprised he became a Servant for FGO but it’s a PLEASANT surprise dude like I love Iori so much and he is one of the most versatile if not Thee most versatile master of the franchise

im surprised his 3rd skills's cooldown was pretty short in comparison to what it does, a 20% rainbow buff damage cut and hit based evade that all last for 3 turns on a 6 turn cooldown is pretty nice.

Counting self buffs only and no niches his NP damage is only behind Musashi when it comes to ST Sabers which is crazy(Iori NP5, gacha Servants NP1). Even amongst all welfares I think he's nr 3.

Yeah cuz "self-buffs only" is extremely misleading, in a team Musashi NP damage is extremely subpar and below average even just among Saber, especially considering the horrible uptime of her buffs. Infact Iori NP5 is stronger than Musashi NP5 in a team, but both are still weaker than NP5 Theseus.

If she's in a team then it's not self buffs only anymore lol But yeah, in a team Servants with longer lasting buffs and especially ones that can be doubled down by Vitch will perform better. Iori can even 3T 1/1/1 nodes which is pretty nice as well.

You know, my biggest problem with Iori is his weird hit counts. Like, what's with this trend of making Quick cards, the Cards where hit counts matter *the most,* having the lowest hits among a Servant's deck again? It's like Servants with a single Quick card aren't allowed to have good hit counts on them these days. He could've very well had a 6-hitter Quick, like Drake, Helena, Nightingale or Beni-Enma. Would've gone really well with his two Quick ups as well. Also, Iori is obviously another case where Lasagna decided to nerf a Servant's NP gain by giving them high hit count Arts cards. Like, his NP gain is 0.42% and his Arts cards are 4 hits. He would've been much better off if the Arts cards had 2 hits and the NP gain was doubled to 0.84 instead. With that, and his Quick card getting a high hit count, he would've been a much more effective NP Spammer.

Surprised you think so highly of him, though tbf his kit on paper looks quite strong, however after calcs it pretty much like what I expected, only strong on paper, and not that impressive when Theseus exists. Iori has pretty mid facecards NP gain, and in a Buster team he wouldn't be able to spam his NP very often against boss, especially not with 0% CE like BG, but Theseus can do that with ease due to better gains and being Art. Iori Crit damage numbers are pretty unremarkable, tested with all comp using Merlin, Koyan, even Van Gogh, with minimal NP ramp up his Crit damage is about on par with Theseus, infact even worse in most comps, only better with full buster brave chain NPBB, but Theseus has a much better ramp up NP for Crit damage, and as mentioned he can spam his NP way easier, so Theseus actually outdamage him in terms of Crit, and that's not great when Iori is a Buster servant. Not to mention, Theseus niche also makes his crits even stronger against certain enemies. Iori NP damage is also below Theseus by 7.8% using meta supports team, and his damage is also not as consistent, and that doesn't even count Theseus niches. Iori gets full benefit from Yui, but the funny thing is, even though Theseus can only get 2/3 buffs from Yui NP, he still outdamages Iori since Yui has universal a Art buff. So accross the board, the only thing I could say Iori is better is solo due to having survivability, but that depends how important you value it as Art team is way better for defence than other team, like Summer Ibuki doesn't have any survivability either and it hardly matters. Iori is still good, but not that good.
