His numbers are pretty nuts for a 3 star. I think they really tried to make him competitive despite saber hokusai existing in evocation.

Fun fact for appreciation (which u kind of noted) : the shield on his second and third ascension is Asterios’ helmet, and is a symbol of their friendship and in remembrance of Asterios after Theseus had to kill him. He’s a cool guy who bonded with asterios in fgo lore and a massive gigachad.

Theseus is the one who killed the Minotaur and in Asterios's wiki page and relationship section, apparently him and Theseus are canonically good friends despite the fact Theseus was the one destined to kill him. Does this show up in the event? No clue, but either way it is nice that my fluffy boy has another friend on his roster! I shall definitely 120 both of them just so they're not separate

He's one of if not the best non-gold ST in the game. In a hypercarry team his NP is obviously weaker than Hokusai due to the 3* stats (by ~21.2%), but he pulls ahead if you hit atleast 1 of his niches (6.7% for DB servants and 23.6% for Giant), and way ahead with both, though it's quite rare. His kit is also very modern with really good numbers even for a gold servant, with battery, steroids, niches and lots of crits and stars. He only lacks survivability, but since he's Art that's not really an issue, and that also means he has way higher ceiling potential for damage. And this guy is permanent, poor Bedivere, it's not even close.

When I saw his kit as an enemy, I already thought to myself "How is this allowed on a silver? He must be limited" And then the game decided to say "no no he is permanent" and I'm very glad he is. First silver Saber since Bedivere, and first permanent since Fergus. AND they decided to make him THAT good. Crazy.

I just love this guy. Only got him np2 though, but he is like a 3 star lancelot. Everything in his kit is made to make him a crit monster Edit: Glad you agree that he is like Lancelot

For me, skill and NP wise, he's better than Lancelot. One of the best things that make him better is that his NP is Multi hit. Only thing that Lancelot has over Theseus is him being a 4 star.

That "sphere" Theseus is holding is the ball of twine he used to find his way through the Labyrinth. This is the man who defeated the Labyrinth and killed the Minotaur. He achieved 6 Hercules-like Labors, and later became King of Athens. *Medea* (Caster) is his enemy; she was his father's new wife (having arrived in Athens after fleeing from Jason), and the two became rivals for the city's throne.

His Arts crits look great, but besides his NP buff his Buster crits might actually be lackluster in comparison. Using his cards might be kind of awkward in practice since his two Buster cards will be strictly worse than his Arts. Pretty unusual for a crit Servant to not want to use their Buster cards, but his kit likely more than makes up for it. Can't wait to try him out.

They do this because their competition has NP upgrades. Don't be misled by how high the crit buff numbers are. They are 3* servants, so it's not as impressive as everyone is acting

This is Theseus, not Perseus. The lore changes would be worse, anyways. Fate leaned _heavily_ into the Ovid take on the myth of Perseus and the gorgons, which itself flew directly in the face of the Greek myth and retroactively turned Medusa from a born malevolent man-eating monster into a victim and Perseus from the _one_ Greek hero who literally did not do *anything* wrong to a foolish, unwitting tool for the god's victim-blaming. While a grain of salt is due on account of the narrator in question, Perseus is allegedly a 'successful Shinji' in Fate.

I guess I'm in the vast minority, but I really don't see him as being that good at all. Arts crits are just so inferior to Buster and Quick, even with a kit as crit centric as this. I just did some simulations with him and even with the perfect turn, the crit damage just pales in comparison to a typical Buster or Quick crit servant. The upside is it greatly helps with NP spam, bust most arts servants don't have any problem with NP spam to begin with.
