Service Axle Locker System? Jeep JL Rubicon lockers not working correctly

So, SERVICE LOCKER SYSTEM light has been on for a bit, they work sometimes, sometimes they don't. Not hearing any noises from the lockers or while driving, which leads me to believe its an electrical issue.
One thing I love about E-lockers, very simple design. A positive and a negative.... These two things is all that is needed to make it work. Power up the magnet and it should lock.
I no longer am restricted to what FCA says is acceptable to engage my lockers. Thou it is a safety feature and intended to prevent people from breaking their Jeeps, this change not only puts my switches to the lockers in a much more convenient spot, but allows me to lock the front independently from the rear. Granted there are not a lot of times where that is needed, but there are times you only want/ need the front locked. Another thing I have noticed since doing this, the lockers engage MUCH sooner.
DOING THIS WILL BYPASS SAFETY FEATURES IN YOUR JEEP SO BE SURE THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT.

Great video. The Rock Krawler instructions I had didn't mention removing the Christmas tree tabs that needed to be pulled in order to gain the extra clearance when installing the lift. I just had to guess and lucked out on my slack. So far, I really like the Tazer Mini in being able to control alot more things than the Superchips I had on my JK.

I disconnected the locker line on the control arms.. but did not do so on the frame.. Thts where I failed ... I like all the functionality of the taser... but I hate the interface... wish it was cleaner

Pulled all four wires out of mine. It took the entire Jeep electrical system down. 80 days at the dealership they said they couldn’t figure it out , they knew about the wires said it wasn’t the problem. Went to a regular mechanic and we had it fixed in 3 days

Holy crap!? 80 days!? The fact these wires getting ripped crashed ur entire jeep is a huge problem... and another reason I bypassed the cpu... my next system delete will be the aux battery

The guys that actually fixed it said it could be that one of the wires is a communication wire to the cpu and it started a battery drain that caused the cpu to go nuts and set off all the warnings.

I did this swap. The Tazer got rid of the service locker light but now have a service 4wd light. Turned both lockers off and turned fad off. I see when you first did this, it showed the service 4wd. How did you get that light off? Great video.

Hey, since this video is now about 4 years old was wondering if you have had any problems with your re wire of the lockers. My 2018 JLUR is having same error and the z automotive bypass did not work so was thinking of using your solution and running new wires. I do have the taser and understand turning off the lockers but I am not clear on the FAD. If I use the taser and turn it off will it still function normally? Should I run a separate switch for the FAD? All help is appreciated from you or anyone who has done this same re wire. I hate not being able to use my lockers. Thanks All !

The Tazer will get rid of that auto start/stop light.. connect the wires again then start the jeep push the button to turn it off the Tazer remembers last known state and itll stay off with no dummy light.

Yea... so I disconnected the hood sensor to disable mine... I failed to tape off the ends and it just got filthy... so I had to clean it before it would recognize it was plugged back in... Iv since fixed the issue thou.. bromance is dummy light free. I’ll be deleting the aux battery soon now 😎🙌

Another common failure is the bus system not communicating correctly.. if Thts the case... dealer should take care of tht for u.. but if it don’t actively have the light on.. don’t expect them to help 😂🙌

Hoping you will see new comments on vids posted over 2 years ago. I have a ram truck that has "service axle locker system" flashing on and off pretty frequently. I am trying to avoid dealerships, as I have read about the path that will take me on for this issue. My question is, if I purchase a tazer and turn lockers off through settings without any kind of wiring to new axle locker switches, will that stop all the error lights I am getting? I don't have a need for the axle locker function at all, I am just trying to get the lights to stop flashing and dinging at me every day. From what I read, it is happening because of sensor issues, which makes sense as I have no other symptoms happening.

I got the same issue on my 2018 JLU Rubi. It wasn’t the wire though. Not sure why message came on originally “ Service Axel Locker” but I just ended up using my superchip computer and flashed the system to stock and then lockers worked okay. I’ll add comments if light comes back on...it’s only been 24 hours since I flashed it.

Could be a messed up connection/ connector on the bus behind the glove box. I recommend bypassing the jeep computer completely like I did in this video.

So fun story about superchip... I updated it right before I tried to uninstall it. Wanted to try to use the new functions it said it had... the whole reason I bought the taser... well after updating it... functions still didn’t work... didn’t even have the options available. Anyways... I go to uninstall it... wouldn’t uninstall... WOULD NOT... called superchips... they had to push a special update to my unit... (it said it was up-to-date) well it properly updated the unit and all the functions I was looking for were there... so keep tht in mind. After this update I was able to uninstall it... guess this is a common issue...

The taser is only deleting programming in the jeep. The lockers still function for me… I’d imagine it would still work with the factory switches….

An easy way of doing this... jack up one side of the front end... u should be able to spin tht 1 tire freely... once u engage the front locker.. it will stop due to the friction from the ground from the other tire Rear is also easy:. Chalk the front tires first... make sure parking brake is off.. Tcase in neutral... then repeat same steps as the front

Would be nice if tazer or programmer would just allow to go into the computer programming to disregard the speed sensor. I drive on the beach often, and would be able to engage the rear locker in 4x4 or even 2wd.. my 2011 ford raptor offers this as an option.

@@JLLIFEOFFROAD A lot of it has to do with where the leads stick in your body at and also your muscle mass. The more and bigger muscles involved, the worse it hurts. I had one lead at the top of my left shoulder and the other lead was over the right cheek of my ass. This is the worst possible scenario because your back has the largest muscle groups. The X26 pulses at 19 times per second so that means every muscle in my back was violently constricting 19 times a second for 5 seconds. I literally thought my back was going to break. I'm curious where you got shot at? You're not alone though, I've heard other people say that they prefer to be tased rather than sprayed. There's just a lot of factors that come in to play with both products. For example, OC spray has more effect on light skinned people than darker skin. But there's good reason why most cops use a Taser rather than spray now a days. Most cops just carry spray for aggressive dogs.
