she is a multipurpose service dog for both my medical and psych disabilities. i will say having anxiety with a service dog is VERY difficult. people stare and talk about you WAY more, so that is not easy to deal with when you already have anxiety. you can talk to your doctor or therapist and see if it would be a hood treatment option for you, and what tasks they can provide for you to mitigate it, but i do make sure to warn people that it WILL make your anxiety worse before it gets better. you’ve gotta get used to even more stares, comments, strangers talking to you and asking (sometime invasive) questions, etc

it could’ve been a service dog in training, or simply a service dog who made a mistake. dogs are not robots and even my girl has had trouble in the past with other dogs who were reactive towards her as well. i would say the degree that the dog barked back and whether or not they were corrected and gotten back under control would’ve determined it’s legitimacy as a service dog.

All other times it should be removed. With all the other collars they have to wear it just seems they would be more comfortable with out them during flight.

hi, yes that’s how it is with pet dogs, however she typically wears it anytime she is working. although she is sleeping on the flight, she is still working and it was kept on in case she needed a correction, especially since it was her first time flying. all she had on was a traffic lead, she wasn’t on a full leash. she is very used to napping with her prong on during breaks, both at disneyland and at my work. if she showed signs of it being uncomfortable i would’ve taken it off. the only other collars she is wearing are her tag collar which is very loose, and a padded two inch “do not pet” collar

He even wore his own doggy seat belt with extra special harness for his seat belt.He is a ShihTzu n too cute for his own good. But like your dog he is extremely well behaved. The only time he wanted off the seat is when he insisted on retrieving my glucometer out of my purse. Go figure not eating n flying makes my blood sugar levels drop. Where did you get Ridley and did you train him as a service dog yourself or did a trainer do it.

Hi there! I love this vid. Ridley seems like such a lovely pup❤️ I was wondering if you get a lot of comments on her tail being dyed? I want to dye my SDIT front paws bc they are white, but I’m worried I will get lots of judgment on it being “cruel”. I’m trying to get lots of opinions to see if it would be a good idea, I absolutely hate conflict and don’t feel comfortable talking to strangers about my SD or anything else for that matter. Thanks for your video, I hope you have a great week✨

I don't have a SD, so i dont know how others respond, but in my opinion it's really cute! If you're worried about people asking maybe put a patch on their vest? (If they wear one)
@theserviceraven Жыл бұрын
just ignore it tbh, we get comments on how it’s cruel for her to even be working 24/7 people are just dumb 🙄

hi there! so simply put, i’m disabled lol. i don’t mind sharing a bit about my diagnoses though! so among many other things, the main issues ridley helps me with are my ehlers danlos syndrome, dysautonomia, and generalized anxiety disorder :)

@theservicehyena30883 жыл бұрын
i don't mind! its pet safe dye from the brand Opawz. i originally began dying her tail to help people see it easier and step on it less. but its also just something that suits her and she's known for it, and she doesn't mind me doing it at all! dye can also help prevent pet theft!

hey! so i had a pretty good relationship with my therapist and after some time it got much easier to open up to her. my biggest bit of advice is, DONT SETTLE. if you don’t vibe with your therapist it’s never going to help you. it’s ok to shop around and try out a few before you find one you’re comfortable with! the thing i loved most about mine is that she was a nurse for some time and knew a lot about my medical conditions which was huge

hey! yes she is. she meets the legal requirements of a fully trained service dog (is PA trained, has solid task training, etc) but bc she’s young i still label her as in training. she also can’t learn mobility tasks until she’s two years old, for health reasons!
