ServiceNow Studio : Working with scoped app and GitHub repo

Video describes about, linking your scoped app in a studio with a GitHub repo. How to create branches, switch branches, stash branches, edit repo configurations within service-now.
What I am yet to cover is the detail steps on how to do merge when you have conflicts with the base branch, which I am hopeful to cover in another video.

This is great. Just one doubt, let's say I have a system property whose value depends on different instances. Now if I use SCM, it will copy the same value when remote changes are applied in other instances. Is there a way we can manage/manipulate the values of such records based on instance? In Update Set, i would usually edit it in XML and then retrieve it.

As per the practice I have seen and experienced, the source control is mainly done on your source development instances. To promote it to the higher instances, you would publish the application to the company/service now repo ( apprepo.service-now.com, not to be confused with the store ). Once published, you can install the scoped app from higher instance using the my company applications. Whenever you go this route , the modified changes on the target instance are usually skipped and is found under the upgrade history . We can decide whether to skip or apply the changes.

You can create an application from the source control itself. Once you do that , then you could do git branching model to develop on the scoped apps. In an enterprise how I have seen is , source dev instances are tied to repo and any higher instances , it would use the company repo to install the published version of applications.. hope it makes sense.

Hi. I'm not getting the GitHub spoke plugin in my PDI. But, it is their in my organization instance. What should I do to get it in my PDI?

If you are planning to use the spoke in a flow, it would require subscription. This video is about how you push your app developed in studio to a repo

Hi sir.. thank you for sharing this ... but. when i am doing this i got an error like :" The user only has read access to the repo. Make sure the user has both read and write access " ... could you tell me how to solve this.

Mostly the repo you are trying to write to, you do not have a developer or admin access. Are you trying to work out of the repo you had created ?
