The lock ring tool is called a spanner socket or spanner wrench and is used in removing the ring for a part on a Sikorsky helicopter rotor head. It was designed in the 1960s.

I have a Cube New Trail with the new CX motor but had a Click, squeak from the unit and need to remove the pedal arm and left cover and re-torque the bolts and screws, they were somewhat loose. solved the problem. I would suggest replacing the nylon lock nut if they become loose, they are cheap and easy to find.
@MrProminister3 жыл бұрын
I assume that I have similar problem in my Haibike. The light squeak appealed after every rain I was ride a bike. For now it sounds like one or more screws loosed little more and it has changed into constant squeak, no matter is a rainy day or not. That must be definitely the chassis bolt that holds motor to frame of bike. Anyway I have to order few tools to fix it up, like a Crank puller and Bosh's 8 tooth locking. It's also good to make a small service by the occasion and check all motor bearings same as put new Bosh Grease for main plastic crank wheel and change some washers for brand new. It all might be a little pricey but once I get all tools and more grease, I'm more independent from any bike services and can do any maintenance for my own than pay my money every time I need a service to someone else.

@@MrProminister I found the problem for my Nu-Trail’ It was the bearings in the rear hub. The noise only came when pedaling not freewheeling. It wasn’t the motor. Bearings are cheap and easy to replace before taking motor apart. The bearings that were bad where the ones in the free hub.

Hi, I have a Bosch Performance Line CX, and a few days ago it began to make a noise, mostly on emtb o turbo mode but only at climbing.... Similar to a coffee grinder. How can I know the kind of bearings or kit I need to replace? Thanks a lot

Hi Andres. Maybe you can just lock for loose bolts, take the covers off and check everything.

@@andresmartinez1237 I have a Bosch Active, but I have not opened it yet. But usually it is possible to sort these things out, and bearings can be greased up again. I am locking for more power, thinking of buying a chip-tuning kit, but they are expensive.

If the Bosch patent is open , I wish someone can built a frame with an allready lower frame arc ready to receive the bosch unit . A conventional bb taking place of the open space meanwhile . Bosch should see it as an investment while aging people will buy the driving unity separately later in their life .

My Gen 1 Active line just went back to the dealer for some work. I've just noticed the outer plastic housing can flex, so if you squeeze the top of it, it squashes in. Can you tell me if thats normal, to be able to squeeze the plastic housing and have it flex allot. It does it at the top, but not the bottom. Thanks!!
@newschoolnerd6 жыл бұрын
The plastic cover is intended to have some flex, it can protect the motor if you hit it or something. It's like a bumper on a car in some ways.

"The new Bosch CX motor weighs 2 grams less ..." That should be *200 grams less* - or 0.44 lbs. I learned that these Bosch units are basically "Electronic Power Steering" units that are used in cars, trucks, ATV's and tractors. I am still hoping for more powerful motor units, and the loss of derailleur's all together. Derailleurs are fragile, and extremely succeptable to trail damage. Hub motors look like the way to go for severe trail duty. JMO.
@geraldhenrickson74727 жыл бұрын
Wait. This is what Bosch offers. I this is a specially designed unit for bicycles and are intentionally limited to low wattage for liability and/or legal reasons. You need to look elsewhere for all you describe. There are dozens of units without deraiileurs available...just not here. ALSO...he does state 200 grams...not 2 grams as you indicate.

Hub motor also negatively affects the sprung to unsprung mass ratio, hence degrades the performance of the suspension - it will increase the unsprung mass in the rear at least 2 times, it's a huge difference! Unless the frame of the bike is very heavy, there's no use of hub motors in MTB's.

Have you seen the price of replacements!500 to 1000 charge cycles? sounds like a decent lifespan until you factor in garbage such as dead (or 'dysfunctional' cells ) water ingress, 'deep' discharge....etc etc.Until that price sorts itself out .....seven HUNDRED Euros/ Bucks ?...I'm out.

Really simple using an old power steering motor, massively over priced for what it is. About time they put some proper development in than repacking old technology.

Or, another take is that Bosch spends millions on R&D on that power steering motor, making it light, efficient, and strong. The automotive-grade product out of Germany is a great starting point for this, their customized e-bike adaptation of the steering motor.

Was a little apprehensive when buying this with the few negative reviews on here, but this was exactly the kind of bike I was looking for. kzbin.infoUgkxn_jUDSlprMIeubd9rHdEAnv59nKfjcKv I plan to ride it on paved roadways and trails, and wanted a "Grocery Getter" so to speak. After receiving it (without any damage), I had it out of the box, and fully assembled in about 30 minutes. I did not have to look at the manual, and I'm glad because I did look at it after I got it together, and it looks like it's a manual for several different styles. I did have to adjust the breaks and gear shifters, but that's been my experience with every bike I've owned. There was one review in particular that made me nervous, saying it was not meant for someone 6'4", it was too short. Well I'm 6'5" (230lbs) with a 36" inseam, and can tell you this bike fits perfectly, granted the seat is in it's highest safe position. I've only had it for 3 days so far, and if things change I will update my review, but I put 26 miles on it so far, and it rides like a dream. Very comfortable seating position. The front suspension is good for the occasional rock or bump you hit on asphalt, but this bike is not made to be taken off road, and I'm OK with that. I was particularly happy to see the wheels were trued perfectly. I was expecting to have to take them in and have them trued at a local bike shop, as I've had to do with all my past bike purchases, but in this case they were already in great shape. For the money, this is an awesome bike.
