Finally, the couple ended up on the Island of Alderney after Jan Fowler read the following comment from the Revd Denise Critchell comments when the church was looking to appoint a new Vicar...
‘Having spent five Sundays on Alderney, its apparent that there is a growing vision and a hope for the future of this church and community. Like the beautiful flowers “on Island”, with the right applicant the prospects are bright.’
Ultimately, the Revd Jan Fowler was appointed Vicar with her husband the Revd Tony Fowler her Associate Priest.
