I used to work at disney land when i was 19 and i wore one of those ridiculously hot costumes, the line of sight was deplorable...many (and i mean MANY) parents complained about how i didnt touch their kids...but like i cant actually wave or hug every child because i was on a strict time schedule that required me to be in certain parts of the park. I totally hear where you’re coming from. However, I feel there is always a quick rush to explain away discrimination. While I believe that you can’t see every single child, what I take issue with is why multiple characters are finding this particular child invisible time and time again but the Caucasian children seated LOWER are so much easier to see. I call cap on that. Furthermore, where are all the other videos of little Caucasian children getting snubbed consistently while all the children right next to them are being greeted? I can’t believe the ridiculousness of these cases and the disturbing grab for attention and money at the expense of their children . My children have had many instances where a character in a parade has missed them - considering the number of children that are in attendance, not everyone is going to be touched or high fived. There are character meet and greets if the children really want to see someone up close. The thought that all characters should be looking straight down in order to see everyone is also not realistic - characters are meant to look happy and be seen, not looking at their feet as they dance down the street.

But the character was saying they were saying no to somebody who wanted the character to hold their baby and take a picture. Clearly that was a parade. People are short in those costumes sometimes i know because I had elmo at my sons 1st birthday party at our house and he came the last minute he squeezed us in for a fast appearance and he ran in wave high five a couple of the 40 kids at our house and didn't get every single one. When he was out in front with me I saw he was so tiny inside the costume and can barely see out if the mouth unless his head was down it is true.

I wore a plush costume for a job as a sign waver. The money sucked. I live in Arizona and it was summer. The eyes were several inches above my actual vision. To see I had to arch my neck and it looked like I was looking at my shoes but really that was the only way I could see anything or anyone. Otherwise I was looking out the bottom of my neck hole just enough to see the sidewalk so I wouldn't fall into traffic. I was beaten up. I was hit by a punk kid on his bike. Had a crack head try to stab me. Had one single kid think I was "kinda neat". Barely saw any of it.
