I remember seeing quite a number of episodes about Cookie Monster as a kid. A couple I remember is one where Cookie Monsters keeps getting blamed for everybody's cookies disappearing until the real thief, Cookie Hood, reveals himself. Another one, from the same season, was one where Cookie Monster got the cookie flu which caused him to sneeze anytime he was near a cookie and the only cure was to not think about cookies for long enough. I also remember the "Cookie Is A Sometime Food", which during that time, my parents had me on a strict diet and I wasn't allowed to eat wheat products as they believed I had an allergy to them. When I came onto KZbin back in 2007, I had watched a lot of the early sketches featuring Cookie Monster and one sketch I remember is one where he is sleeping over at Ernie and Bert's place while Bert is visiting his grandmother where Cookie Monster first thinks he sees a scary monster in the corner, but was actually a shaggy blanket on a toy chest, and then Cookie Monster had a nightmare about singing cookies who were teasing him, with the sketch ending on Cookie Monster waking up from his dream, Ernie brings him a plate of cookies to make him feel better, Cookie Monster yells, "NO COOKIES" and breaks a hole through the door, Ernie says, "Cookie Monster afraid of cookies? I don't believe that!" And then Cookie Monster comes back in and says, "Me no can believe it, either!" And eats the cookies. I also remember seeing an episode where Cookie Monster wanted to go to the moon because he thought it was a giant cookie despite everybody telling him otherwise, and how he assumed that it was possible to get there by jumping or with a ladder. I thought those moments were quite funny. More recently, I had seen an episode where Cookie Monster made a wish that he never had to wait for a cookie again, and his Fairy Cookie Person gives him the Cookie Touch, making it so that whatever he touches would turn into a cookie. But Cookie Monster then realizes that this keeps him from being able to eat anything else including his mother's homemade lasagna, so he wishes for the cookie touch to be taken away. That episode was quite interesting as we saw a side to Cookie Monster we normally don't get to see where he was willing to share cookies by turning Telly's triangle and Big Bird's book into cookies, expecting to eat them, but instead complained about it, and was willing to eat other things besides cookies, but found out he couldn't.

The fact that “The First Time Me Eat Cookie” confirms that Cookie Monster’s googly eyes are a direct result of becoming addicted to cookies, since he does not have them prior to eating a cookie, weirdly horrifies me. It makes me never want to eat one so my eyes don’t end up like his.

I never knew about Sesame Street addressing the Veggie Monster Scandal in an episode. That is very cool. You covered some great highlights for this character!

One of the more notable "Letter of the Day" segments I remember was one which first appeared in the 10th episode of Season 33 (Episode 3990), which aired on Friday, February 15, 2002. It features Cookie Monster trying to stop himself from eating a letter "D" cookie by writing a "Don't" sign, but he ends up biting it in half, so that it says "Do". Allowing him to eat the cookie regardless.

As a kid I carried Cookie Monster, Oscar & Kermit with me everywhere. Their black pupils didn't last over the years. I even tried to make a puppet outta Kermit using glue & staples. That didn't end well.

My favorite Cookie Monster moments... One of them might be that 70's sketch where he's driving a train full of cookies and sweets and baked goods over a mountain, and a snowdrift blocks his path, and he has some big decisions to make... And his guest appearance on _The Colbert Report_ , which started off as another Veggie Monster joke before going into a joke about Fox News throwing a fit because Barack Obama didn't wear flag lapel pins, and Cookie Monster generally showed he had far more emotional maturity than Stephen ever could have hoped to have. Also he ate Stephen's Peabody.

I remember a old sketch where cookie monster and the count are arguing over what to do with a plate of cookies. Cookie wants to eat them and count wants to count them. They quickly reach a compromise where the count counts the cookies while Cookie monster eats them.

Next would probably be another character introduced in Season 1 like Bert & Ernie, Grover, Guy Smiley, Oscar the Grouch or even Big Bird. But, we'll just have to wait and see.

Cookie’s my boy! C is for Cookie is burned in to my brain and is one of the very few things I deeply remember from watching the show as a kid (that and, weirdly, the song “C Drives Me Crazy”- it’s a real two nickels situation with Sesame Street songs about the letter C over here)

I love your deep dives! I'm sure you have requests for much more popular characters, but I'd love to see your take on "Carl, the Big Angry Monster"! He always cracks me up! I think he debuted on Muppets tonight, but I've always wondered if he's an evolution of the "Beautiful Day" Monster (Ralph?). There used to be a lot of random "monsters" with big appetites and bad attitudes, but they seem to have all been distilled into Carl. I think there might be a lot to dig into with him...

Cookie monster Has always been one of my favorite characters and he's one of the reasons why I've devolved a fondness for eating cookies and I had no idea That he stopped appearing in street sences until 1998 My favorite cookie related moment was actually not from the show itself but from the 1995 compilation movie cookie monster's best bites and it's when he first puts the cookies in the oven and waits for them to bake however that is easier said then done as it proves to be a much more difficult task Eventually though he does end up getting to eat the aforementioned cookies but only after letting them cool off and having a thoughtful mind moment to himself And it's because of that moment I will occasionally quote a very memorable and iconic line of his from that movie and that quote would happen to be me gotta chill out chilll oh and also cookies done yet ? That is another line from this movie that had stuck with me and will forever be ingrained In my memory those particular two quotes are favorites of mine and thats also why in general that movie was not only my introduction to sesame street but it also introduced me to cookie monster as well

Will you be doing any deep dives for characters from Muppet babies like Skeeter or summer?
@TheEmeraldWeirdo9 ай бұрын
I could see him doing one for Skeeter, but I think Summer's a bit too recent. She's only been in the Muppet Babies reboot so far, so it'd be a really short video.
