I'm not gonna lie, I ship these two. I'm not saying I ship the present rin with Sesshomaru but the future Rin and Sesshomaru. I know that sounds ridiculous of how I put it, but I put it that way so that it wouldn't sound so..."weird" to how people think you know? In this vid they're not hinting anything too romantic between the two but just the closeness of the bond they have for now. Who knows what may happen when she gets of age. Will he marry her? Or will they continue to have the bond as they travel together? Who knows. But we can always have our imagination :)

maya summers Just as someone from the outside looking in (haven't watched Inuyasha in YEARS, although I'm trying to track it all down), it is only to our modern views that this would be...weird/gross/pedo behavior. Arranged/forced marriages STILL haven't ended. Genital mutilations of women STILL occur, as per tradition. "Harlots" get acid thrown in their faces. This show takes place in FEUDAL Japan. How incredibly common was it to have the princess of one country, as a young child, go live with her future royal in laws in order to basically be indoctrinated into THEIR way of thinking (and to get to know the groom better/no surprises)? Very common. However, I don't think Sesshomaru sees Rin like that....and I remember being so surprised that he saves her. But my whole point is that, I think it would be a valid plot line (although creepy)....but in the context of the show's era and attitudes, it wouldn't be.

Honestly, if it was not for Rin basically showing/teaching Sesshoumaru the compassions and loyalties of what humans were truly capable of, I don't think he would have stuck around as much as he did. Even the thought of ever assisting or saving his half brother throughout the series from time to time when needed would have crossed his mind, ever. Everything he did was because of Rin and her desires for good. Though only a very young child, she was at times, more counseled than even Sesshoumaru himself. Rin showing him just a little humanity when he needed it most, when she herself had been given none, had shown him to realize there was so much more to his existence than just hate and anger. Basically, it was just two lonely and lost souls in the world who just needed one another in the end and it was Rin who truly found her way into Sesshoumaru's heart. She showed him what it truly felt like to be loved and to love another living soul, and he, in his own quiet way was able to return her love. Sesshomaru will forever be one of my most beloved and favorite redemption characters of anime. There are others but his respect and silent love for Rin is what makes these two characters stand out to me most, they are so honest and pure of any series I have ever watched in my 30 years.

Now choose. Whatever you choose is what Rin will be to Sesshomaru. There's your answer . I, being very honest, personally would choose to NOT be his daughter. Please stop calling THE Sesshomaru a loli or pedo, he is clearly neither. He respects her and cares for her in every appropriate way possible. If every loli and pedo is like that? Well!! Yeahh, i do agree. One more thing, in this story, it s hard to see someone to say " i love you" even Inuyasha, his father, miroku, kouga... Or anyone else. Instead of that, they protect their women they loved. Sess is protective to Rin. I mean that "protecting is the way they show their love".

I think teaching Sesshoumaru compassion by giving him a girl to fall in love with would be easy, since he also would ""gain"" something from a romantic relationship (e.g. sexual relations), but Sesshoumaru doesn't "gain" anything from taking care of Rin, since she isn't of any help to him whatsoever, he simply keeps her close because he cares about her, without expecting anything in return. I think when Rin died for good and Sesshoumaru thought "I should have left in her in a human village" that was such a strong and defining moment of a parent's selfless love, always putting their child first, it was a beautiful and sad moment to me. Teaching Sesshoumaru compassion through this sort of "parent" role is really original and touching in my opinion, and way more meaningful than giving him a romantic interest. Don't get me wrong, I love romance above all, and I'm not judging people for shipping them... I just think it's sad people think romantic love is automatically strongest. I grew up with neglective parents, so I've always yearned for romantic love, but that's actually what makes Sesshoumaru's devotion to Rin that more touching to me. He is in the end her guardian and she's a human child, and everything what comes beyond that can be left to everyone's imagination as they wish :)
