I hope that Nelson is alive and well after the intense manufacturing sessions. Vipin was very thoughtful and attentive and demanded feedback from Nelson after every topic. It is an effective method to check if the "patient" is responding to the applied "treatment" :)))

Question 1 -I n order to capture the actual cost booking against an operation, there should be time and expense entry to book the actual cost. How does it working in D365? Question 2 - Is there What-If scheduling available? Before start a production order we want to run what-if schedule like when does the production order will be completed to check the Rough- cut capacity planning ?

Ans1: We use category (Shared category & cost category set up) and define operation cost per hour on these categories. Then we attach these categories to the operation when creating a route. Thus, when route/operations are consumed the respective cost of operation is also consumed during production posting. Please go through these forms, you'll understand what I am saying. Ans2: Yes before releasing we can do scheduling (job scheduling is detailed, operation scheduling is less detailed), it will take into account the correct resource (you specify that on operations in a route) and will also take into consideration the capacity of resource. Capacity is controlled by production calendar which you define in settings. So before even releasing the production order, the system will tell you that 4 days will be consumed by all the operations and following resources will be used for x1, x2 ... xn hours if you run scheduling. Hope that answers your question.

Hi, What if you have cost categories with cost X and a costing resource with cost Y attached to the operation in the route? What run time category will be fetched after registering time on the operations? Is it possible to change so the cost categories will override the costing resource specified for the operation? Best regards, Elias

I have an little issue with the job card journal. When i post a job card with flag End on. Check the screen Current Production Job and i saw that the flag Canceled is on with the status of Job ID is Ended. Is there any way to Post a Job card and Job ID status Ended but flag Canceled is off

I watched your complete video to know how to add Indirect cost (Overhead), but you did not explain :(. Overall you explained it very well :)

Sorry Umair, I skipped that since it would have been a bit more advanced for the folks, for sure I'll cover that in costing sheet soon. Actually costing sheet is a bit more detailed, so we need to use surcharges and cost groups to add the overhead costs.

@@viplearningpoint573 Awesome! I have gone through the costing sheet and applied FOH/ indirect cost. It worked except surcharges.
