The rocks do be sharp. I went out in February in low tide and maybe 12knots of wind. This was my first time in Fuerteventura and the first session. I was taken by surprise how slippery it was right above the the little passage where most foilsurfers go out. I fell onto my but and shreaded my wetsuit and my left hand. Btw you just earned yourself a follow, love the content!

Sometimes we’re in the right spot at the only time to make a difference in someone’s life. And the sequence of events that led you there only makes it that much more perfect timing. Thankfully you also had the awareness and skills to make that difference.

Nice save, though she should know how to self-land using her quick release. Not sure I would have run toward her with my kite in the air to land hers as you did since that adds another big risk -- namely, her kite wrapping your lines. Why not quickly self-land your kite then run to her? Adds an additional 5 seconds but eliminates the the 2 tangled kites risk in strong gusts... Just a thought.

Self landing my kite would have taken too long. And self landing her kite was not an option as Hers was on a double front line safety and would not have flagged out.

Hi. Those were BIG jumps and I loved the landing kite part at the end where you are sitting in the sand bracing! I will simply say - she (who I think is gutsy BTW and I admire that in a kiter) was lucky you were there because you possess a quality of courtesy towards other humans to help when required - kind of like superman! Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing... Higher Power? What else? The illusion is we think we are in control anyway, as I see it... Would like to come to Flagbeach to practise some wing foiling. I guess it's good and this slight offshore tendency shouldn't be a problem... Are the rocks an issue with a 90cm mast? Good place to learn? Hopefully meet you there :-)

Hi Thorsten. It really depends on what time of the year. Summer is best for wind and flat water. Winter is better for waves, but the wind is not as consistent as summer. Depth is not an issue when we have sideshore winds.

When you are kiting in offshore wind, especially when its blowing over 30knots, you really need to be sure of your skills and gear. Fortunately she made it to the shore, but if she could not with the kite, swimming would have been neerly impossible. If I was in her situation, without knowing how to perform a self landing, I would have release the safety, being prepare to release the kite in case the remaining pull is too much. That is a real option to consider in offshore winds.
