I’ve been playing so much of it. You pretty much said it all in this video. By the way, the Pressure rotation is hard to get used to, but it looks nice on drops with a slow rotation. I want the skater to stop spinning when I let go of the trigger, but i feel like the pressure looks better than that when done correctly. It’s better looking than spinning fast and suddenly going straight in midair. But it is hard to get used to

super glitchy and doesnt even truely have goofy stance, u still hold ur shoulders like ur switch and half the tricks dont work, but i can do em switch (aka regular stance) every try, yes i switched my stance to goofy but it does nothing, there are way too many glitches for me to even name, also dont really care for input "lag" that kinda makes it feel like a tony hawk game where u put an input then ur skater does the trick, also not a fan of the grind system also feels arcady , im still gonna give it a chance, but im truely waiting for sxl to do there mo cap and i want them to take there time and get it right

I 100% agree!! Pushing should be fixed and grinds should grind a little smoother and ollies should be moved a notch up... Like tre flips are low pop should be medium pop and a regular ollie should be higher.... I am pretty satisfied with the game so far, but it would open up for more tech style tricks if they fixed these problems.... Plus they should adjust rotating so you can control the rotation a bit better instead of over rotating or having to use the revert :) ... The city itself is amazing!! Really some of the best spots ever made in a game in my opinion! I am really looking forward to see where this one goes :)

An idea to combat the heavy feel when grinding could be to give us the ability to wax rails and ledges. Depending on how much wax you put on you slide faster or slower. Needing to wax ledges might not suit everybody though, so it should maybe be a selectable option in the gameplay tab.

I think the pushing speeds are perfect where they are. In real life, one push isn't enough to get up to speed; the first push from a standstill will not give you much momentum. And that is perfect, because there are plenty of times where I don't want a lot of speed. As for trick height, I don't love the way it's set up now, where specific tricks are categorized as low, medium, or high. You should be able to do variations of each. I know some people who can pop their tre flips higher than they can ollie. They definitely need to add some control over the pop.

A story/campaign was part of their kickstarter goals which were not met. Not completely ruled out, but they should definitely be working on animations and other various issues before even attempting to work on any sort of story.

Playing Session has been very fun so far. The controls are kind of weird at first but feel very natural when you get used to it, that may take some hours or days though. I was surprised to see how big the world already is. You can actually get lost when playing the game for the first time because there are so many cool spots everywhere. I agree that there are many things they need to improve but for a game that is still in Pre-Alpha stage it plays, feels and looks like an overall decent product. The feature I'm looking forward to the most is the multiplayer implementation, can't wait to sess together with friends.

There are no late flips in game yet, or no comply. Grabs are there....kind of, they are in experimental stages that can be toggled off and on in the option menu. But you don't really grab your board, so for now pointless to turn them on.

"unnecessary hard" - Best description of Session I've heard. Realism is awesome, too much tho and it's just not as fun. (Keeping in mind that this is a a VERY early build of the game) Just saying, this game could've used the same controll scheme as the Skate games, people would still be all over this as they are now. Hope they find a nice balance between the 2!

the only thing i dont like is how the bail animations look. making them look like jello. also they dont have a mid trick bail function. which i think would be cool.

I've had a blast with Session so far. Obviously my complaints are very similar to yours where your grinds/slides feel extremely slow and your other tricks having little to no pop at all.

I wouldn't say skater xl is better than sessions, and I wouldn't say session is better than skater xl. Each game is doing their own thing and has something unique going for it. Get both, and enjoy both games!

Get both, they are equally enjoyable. Only complaint with skater xl is the devs are shitty when it comes to what they wanna do with their game with future updates and basically left it up to the community of modders to build their game.

You'll enjoy it. Just gotta understand you are getting a game in very early stages of development so there's gonna be some issues to deal with. But it's $20 USD so can't argue too much.

I hope that they will add a spin feature that if you let g of the trigger it will stop spinning. I hate the settings they have now. I can’t stand it. I be tried pressured, timing and speed but I just can’t get used to it it’s really annoying. Hopefully they will allow more creativity like skate style I wonder what companies are gonna allow them to use in the game

The one thing i keep noticing in gameplay is how empty the city feels, not as in skate spots but as in there is no people or animated things so the city looks like a ghost town

The developers have addressed that. NPC'S are coming at a later date to add some life to the city, I believe they said they would come in V1 (version 1.0) but they are indeed planned for the future.

hoping the finished product is something i can enjoy but for now to any glitches and it feels like this game is still probably years away from a full finished release unfortunately. say you are goofy left stick down, left food down, switch to fakie then its dumb that its now left stick up to pop. seeing as you can pivot while manual then the controls are all jacked and you have no clue how to pop out doesn't make sense. another thing that bugs me is getting lined up for something just right and right before i want to do the trick i pivot and screw everything up very common hope that changes. grinds are all kinds of glitchy. spins feel very bad. this video is well done true comments all the way through. i like the game but it needs a lot of work.

7:23 you know what I have a good idea for this that will fix your problem without possibly messing with the dynamics of speed. when pushing from a standing still position they should implement a way to hold the push button , the longer you hold button before letting it go the more starting speed you will have. I personally like that its so slow because it allows skating tiny obstacles and going for shorter rails or objects alike. Would definitely enjoy a way to scale the starting speed instead of shooting forward but I get what you mean, I also had a problem where I couldnt clear a set of stairs, forcing me to do a running start(off board)

there are two problems with this game to me is that if your toe touches anything then you instantly rag doll. the next thing is that the rag doll is so stupid, it needs to be more stuff like skate 3. the rag doll is just so bad in my opinion

i hate this new direction that skate games have taken where grinding and manuals have no way to force the player to balance to land the trick. its just automated. which is probably fine to make it look more realistic but there has to be a balance between realism and skill. its so boring to make it all just automated for such a large portion of the tricks in skateboarding. there should be an option to turn it on. also i wish there was a story mode. like a legit story mode with good missions. not quite as cheesy as tony hawk but better than skate 3. also i wish there was a way to make tricks in general just harder to pull off. or maybe like a difficulty mode that made you have to have just perfect timing to land a trick. something that truly made the game challenging. again the whole automated style that skate games have taken up these days is really boring. despite looking clean it is way too easy. they need to find a balance between the tricks looking realistic and needing skill to pull off the tricks.

11:25 skate 2 in a nutshell along with skate 1, skate 3 is ass no matter how many glitches there are it can never compare to how smooth skate 1 and 2 were they had great cities and features skate 3 just said hey lets make 3 islands, 1 of them is epic as it holds massive ramps and big air, oh and lets make a skate school to appeal to the 12 year olds playing, i grew up with skate it for the wii and skate 1 since i was 7 so i never felt the need to ever attempt skate school
