That sounds like it would've been better than the prequel series they're actually doing. Where they retcon the show so that John learns how to be a hunter from Mary before her death. Personally, I would've preferred a prequel following an organization of people that are quite fond of the alphabet, specifically one member that I feel the show kind of squandered the potential of.

Looking back, it's odd that they didn't give Rufus a hunter's funeral with the pyre. Edit: I forgot Rufus was Jewish and they're against cremation.

@@raissarodrigues5878 i am loving The Winchesters. I was not on board at first. Only was willing to give it a try for Jensen, and hope for a spin off later, but I actually like it. Not Supernatural, but better than a lot of junk out there.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that the show killed off Rufus, to have Bobby be the one to do it under the influence of a supernatural parasite was absolutely messed up.

The fury at Samuel for talking to Bobby like that! Loved it. And I like that you smiled at Rufus' more friendly sass towards Bobby. This seemed like Supernatural doing their version of "The Thing". With Rufus, Jo and Ellen, I wish the show had made an effort to feature them more regularly before killing them off.

What Dean says in the end, he definitely keeps his word.... gotta think even up to this point, just how many times have the boys died? Yet EVERYTIME Dean doesn't give up, not on the world, not on Humanity, not on his brother. Cause he forgives when it's needed. Sure he definitely can hold a grudge and doesn't forget, but in this case he's on point about forgiveness all around when our time comes. I've said the same to my family.. and with certain losses recently, I'm glad I said what I said.

The one thing that bothered me this episode was that Bobby acted normally around Sam which is weird cause last time these two were together Bobby was still hung up on Soulless Sam trying to kill him. It would’ve been nice to see them have a conversation rather than resolve it off screen,

It was fun seeing Mitch Pileggi and Steven Williams onscreen together. Both were on The X-Files, but only had one scene together. And that was an epic fight in an elevator.

Episodes like this are "interesting" to look back on after watching Walker where "Samuel" plays Jared's dad lol. It's also an episode that defines Supernatural so well with "This is why we can't have nice things!!" with all dem deaths! -_- I wouldn't have minded if Gwen stayed around. Rufus too. They didn't *need* to kill everyone. We get it. The life of a hunter is bad. Gosh.

We just got over our 2nd round of covid last week. We were vaxxed this time so it wasn't as bad but it still sucked. I'm glad you're feeling better & continue to do so. I wish we had seen more Rufus. A lot of Bobby/Rufus jobs would have been so much fun. I just have to say that I NEVER liked Samuel, EVER. I wish Bobby would have punched him! Gwen was the only decent Campbell & look what she got, poor thing. It would have been cool to have her around once in a while too. I remember when Rufus said that he doesn't bother drinking anything unless it was Johnny Walker Blue. Always cry like a baby when I watch this episode. In a book written by someone who worked as a script coordinator on the show, wrote a book as Bobby, called Bobby Singer's Guide to Hunting. In it he wrote that Rufus had a grown daughter who knew what they did for a living & Bobby asked her to be the driver in their getaway car. He didn't tell Rufus he asked her and it got her killed.

Yes, they had a couple of X-Files episodes with this kind of theme. There was also an Outer Limits episode like this where a parasitical worm-like creature infected everyone. Yes, the monsters are definitely on the loose here. Yes, we lost a lot of good people in this episode.

It's messed up that this show with already low diversity killed Rufus and made it even worse, but I do appreciate them burying him instead of cremating because burial is the custom for Jewish people.

I don't get it, how is Dean being arrogant? All he did was say, when he dies, if anyone of them had wronged him in anyway, he forgives them. Where is the arrogance in that?

@@mystmagyk3101 If that's the decision Dean wanted to make for himself, that's fine, but he believed Rufus should've did the same thing for Bobby and Dean didn't know or care why Rufus was unwilling to forgive Bobby at all. That's what I find arrogant about Dean. He pushed his views on Rufus as if he was in the wrong for not forgiving Bobby.

@@dwnkaomwn3953 That's having an opinion. He didn't tell Rufus he was wrong, he just said that in his opinion Rufus should have forgiven Bobby. Having different opinions and beliefs isn't arrogant, trying to force them on someone else is.

Because Rufus' refusal to forgive Bobby made his pain a million times worse, due to him dying like 10 minutes after hurting Bobby like that. You don't say that to someone when either one of you could very well be dead within the next hour due to the thing you're currently hunting.
