Set your chosen HDMI port as priority on start up for your LG TV. Instead of other devices such as your Chromecast, Firestick or games console starting first, you can make sure another HDMI port (such as HDMI1) gets priority when the TV starts. This is helpful when other devices boot up first before your cable TV or satellite TV box fully starts.

You rock! We have a 2020 OLED model; a 65". When LG released the latest software update, it stopped powering up on our Google TV HDMI input, and insisted on powering up on its stupid LG dashboard. I found your video, and my wife is now happy she doesn't need to find the LG remote anymore to get it to go back to HDMI2! Edit: Also, my LG says "Public TV Mode" or something along those lines instead of Hotel mode.

How can I change the IR code on the LG TV Right now the house is getting almost finished master bedroom, and guest bedroom done almost I have already hung the TVs but when you change the channel or turn the volume up or down the room on the other side of the wall does the same thing I need to get one of the two TVs a new IR code. Hello. The TV will turn itself off after a few hours if no input to the remote is received. This is a safety feature to help protect the screen.

I do not use my HDMI port, so when I start up my TV, I have a static screen that makes noise. Is there a way to start up the TV on an input/screen that doesn't have noise? The art picture screen would be perfect.

The Home screen should launch automatically as a ribbon at the bottom of the screen unless you disable it. The TV is looking for a valid HDMI port on start up.

On older LG go to General and into Home settings. Turn off auto launch for home and it then automatically goes HDMI 1.

Keep trying... Finally got it to work on my C3! Took me at least 10 attempts before the Hidden Menu appeared on my C3 77" (purchased Jan 2024). FYI: On newer sets (recently manufactured) or on sets with current updated firmware... instead of the menu tile saying "Hotel Mode Setup".... it now says "Public Display Settings". Other than that these instructions do work! NOTE: As others have mentioned getting access to the menu can be pretty frustrating because the timing of your actions and button presses is critical. TIP: When you long press the cog icon, keep it pressed until you get to the channel display banner on the left, then enter 1105 and immediately press the scroll wheel -but- you have to be quick! . Any delay between any of the the steps usually means it won't work and you'll have to try again. It can make you crazy!

Hello. Those are not products I am familiar with, sorry. But you could try getting a cable or adapter that will convert your video out to hdmi. Also convert your tapes to a digital format as the tapes will degrade over time.

Hi, I’m not familiar with that model TV. I think it’s a HD (not 4K) LG model. Does it have webOS? So the picture settings and menu look the same or similar to TV in the video? My only thoughts are that it either has a different OS or that feature isn’t supported in your region.

Not sure if it will help... but... on my C3 after finally getting into Hotel mode my TV didn't behave as I had hoped ( in fact it was a little worse. I tried dozens of times to get back into hotel mode so I could undo the changes I made with no luck. Just for grins, I tried doing "soft" reset as follows: With the TV turned on, and using the remote, depress and hold the volume down button and while holding it down, press the power button on the remote to turn the set off. The HDMI changes I made when in hotel mode went back to the way they were. Whew!

Just bought a C2 and found this video searching to start LG on Firestick. But all I had to do to set it up is press the settings button for a few seconds. That's all I had to do. It automatically set it up the TV to start on the last HDMI port used last time set was turned off.

It usually starts on the HDMI port for the last device used or the first to power on, and the Firestick boots up quicker than most things. Using the setting in the video would force a HDMI port as default on start up for a device that boots slower or was not the last used device.

As mentioned in the video, you can set the default HDMI port on start up. Otherwise the first device to boot up will often get priority, and you may have to keep switching the input source on start up.

It can be a tricky menu to get to. But the key is to hold the button down until the first menu pops up and disappears, and then the channel banner on the left pops up, as in the video.

There is a one problem. With C1 the tv won't perform pixel cleaning and you cannot do it manually either. Image will slowly burn in, but you can clean it again by switching back to home mode.

AirPlay is hit and miss on my LG TV. Sometimes it stops working then comes back ok. One time I had left Hotel Mode turned on which will disable AirPlay.

I am so regretting buying an LG OLED. Why oh why won't it just default to the HDMI 1 setting. It really confuses and pisses off my wife that you have to use the TV remote, then the device remote to get to watching TV. I DONT WANT TO SEE YOUR DASHBOARD. I DONT WANT TO GO TO YOUR DASHBOARD. I have the opposite problem. I want it to launch the dashboard on boot up but it keeps booting up in hdmi input whenever I turn the tv on. The crazy part that I already set the auto launch to boot the Home Screen and it still turns on in the hdmi input. It’s so annoying!!!
