Perfect, dude! I just got my Mojave 6S V2 and I wanted to make sure everything was 100% before I drove it. I checked all screws and stuff, then when I dry tested it for power and throttle and everything I noticed my servo was trying to pull the steering wayyy too hard and remembered to program, but wasn't sure how. This video was absolutely perfect! Everyone needs to do this to their new rigs before their first run to ensure their servo doesn't die so soon!

Glad the video helped. I know it’s a bit long, but I thought it was important to include the amp draw so people can see why servos burn out if you don’t set the end points.

Great video sir! Can you tell us more about the amp meter and where you purchased it?
@dgitalchaos Жыл бұрын
I got the amp meter from eBay. I wish is saved maximum values, so I could test amperage on runs, but it doesn’t. It’s just a cheap amp meter with various other readings. www.ebay.com/itm/284920547921?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=NunrwCbTTXa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=BL9jz6a9Qo-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

@dgitalchaos Thanks for that. Yeah I could see how it saving max values could be useful. I typically end up upgrading to the Castle MM8S esc to get the log data options.

I used your tutorial to set my endpoints. Thank you for this because the manual doesn't even mention the radio having that capability, much less explaining how to do it. I have an issue though where I set my center point for the trim and then it seems like it changes when i go to run it. I don't know if there is just a bunch of play in the system or what. I turn the unit on and set the steering trim to center before connecting my servo horn and everything will look centered. Next time I look it's off and by a decent amount. Very frustrating.
@dgitalchaos2 жыл бұрын
That certainly sounds strange. Have your tried centering everything and rebinding the receiver? Or the servo potentiometer might be going bad.
@johnyortiz87742 жыл бұрын
@@dgitalchaos It actually was the case with the original servo and the upgrade I put in. I noticed last night my servo saver seems to engage really easy one way and you have to put a ton of effort to engage the other way. I think that might be at least part of my problem. Seems strange.
@bryanspanjer32132 жыл бұрын
Also, there is a lot of play on the left side especially. There is vertical play (considerable) of the bellcrank assy. I plan to disassemble it and place shims to prevent this. Just my two cents. Enjoy y’all!

@@bryanspanjer3213 I planned on not really upgrading until parts broke on me but I may go ahead and upgrade my steering assembly items to try and tighten that up.

i have fireteam, but what is endpoint? i do not know what this is for?
@dgitalchaos Жыл бұрын
So a lot of people are burning their steering servo because the servo tries to travels further to the right or left than the RC is capable of turning. By setting the endpoints, you’re telling the transmitter where those physical limits are on the RC so that the servo does not try to exceed those limits. The affect of this is proven in my video based on amp draw - which equates to heat and burning servos. The amp draw in the video is conservative as these servos can pull up to 5 amps. You can ignore the amp meter altogether, as that is information proving the effects.

Tried this and the handbrake servo was activated when the A/B button was hit. I read elsewhere the handbrake servo needs to be unplugged for the steering endpoints to be set. I’m going to give that a try next.

@@dgitalchaos Thanks! I had to remove the servo arm and adjust that then I got it! @@JerryJrsGarage the brushless servo should technically last longer, and produce less heat, but actual mileage may vary.
