Fielding sale is crazy today, lot of confidence in the beef market when your start paying over 2k for 500 kg bulls. I lived in the States 2010, the market was paying 3200$ for a cow and calf ,one year later they were struggling to get $1200 and some ranches got sold up. My grandfather always said big money made in beef and big money can be lost in beef.

Great video, really good dog work! Would it help if you put the mark for singles on the shoulders and the mark for triplets on the rump since you have more singles? The shoulder mark would be easier to see when shedding into different groups. Just a thought.
@kiwifarmernz2 ай бұрын
It's not so much a single and triplets mark it's the second cycle red mark that needs to be in the centre of the back.

Thanks for the vlog, I really enjoy them. At what soil temperature does the pasture you have start to grow? In Queensland it starts to grow at above 14c.
@kiwifarmernz2 ай бұрын
In NZ it starts to grow at 5 degrees but doesn't start to crank until 10 degrees

Do you have the same drench resistance problems we have in the North Island? Nightmare up here. I see a big storm coming next week snow could be to low levels, look after yourself. I purchased ewe lambs at Stortford lodge for $75 yesterday for a short term trade, making money is harder than it used to be.

Yea we do have the same resistance problem. Hopefully the snow doesn't come to much.

I drenched a mob of sheep for a mate years ago in NSW, he had broken his arm shearing, probably playing silly buggers. I must say it wasn't my favorite job, they are stubborn buggers.

who do you get your grass seed off?

I buy it through PGG Wrightsons. It's either their seed, Agricom or Barenbrug

I don't like Snowy listening to too much swearing. Maybe you can leave him at home during the times that he could definitely get in the way.
