This made me a little nostalgic, thinking of my mom always doing her lesson plans. I made her a template in Excel for all the repeating things and then she’d fill in the rest. 🙂. She taught elementary school for over 30 years (she’s retired now)

Zoom to 200% when you’re typing or you’ll go cross eyed with the small font size. 🤣 It works. Just requires some finagling.

Hello, I was wondering how do you host/introduce your planner club. I'd love to host/start one at my high school. How do you start the year? Do you supply the planners n stickers and stuff? What do you structure it? Do you mind sharing it?

The kids actually requested it so I sent them to the principal to set up the club. That’s just our system, the kids have to start it. We put up posters that had a short link to a Google form. I also posted it online in these Google classrooms we have for each grade level. We have club funds because we’re title I school so we used some of that. The kids also paid $20 in dues to help supplement. It was no big deal if they couldn’t pay. We just use club funds instead. We made a big order on the Michaels website because I could use a tax exempt number and it was easy for the kids to choose what they wanted. We have a period during the day that we can meet. We meet once a week or every other week. There’s absolutely no structure to it. I have a cart with all their supplies and they come in and use whatever they want. They all have their own style so they just choose what they want to do. Sometimes I will show them little tutorials about like how to cut washy or a lettering thing. But it’s pretty much a free-for-all. We just sit and chat. I used a bit of the club funds to purchase some basic supplies, but I’ve been pretty lucky that I’ve gotten a lot of donations on Instagram. You could put a call out on your stories, and I bet you would get people to donate to you.

I don't use that template anymore, but there is still a link in the description to the Teachers Pay Teachers template that I used! You can see what the file looks like there. I cut it out and glued it into my planner so that I could type in my plans in a small font.
