Also one important note to mention is if you want your recordings to look better and you don't want the screen to flicker every time you click record. Then on the controller click the mode button next to the power button to go into Realtime-Mode. This mode will disable the the Avermedia Menu System making it so you can record or take snapshots in real time without having any interutions, like the screen flicker when the record button is pressed in Normal-Mode.

For some reason mine only displays and records up to 720p. I don't mind the quality but I would really like to play and record in 1080i. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Please reply ASAP if you do!!

at the back of the ps3 there is a HDMI component in put, normally i use it but dont know if I should with the avermedia HD. Also when I go through the TV channels the avermedia is on chanel ext 3 and the ps3 is on HDMI 2

Ok so it seems to me how you view it on the T.V is not the quality it records in, the quality is poor while playing and recording but once the file is on laptop/pc you get the better quality. Still not good playing with a fuzzy screen.

Not working! I have followed the manual steps and yours as they are the same but it is not showing in HD nor recording in HD it looks horrible and blurry. I dont get how this can record in HD when its not running through H.D leads?

Does any one else have the problem of a blurry screen while playing but the recording is better but not great? I have set up exactly how the manual and this you tube video explains and its all blurry especially when moving but the recording is better just very dull and dark. its a strain on the eyes playing while using this device as its like playing on a H.D t.v with scart leads.

question does the 1080p work after the latest firmware update cause update 3.2.0 says 2. Release note (1) Support for 1080p resolution (60 fps pass-thru and 30fps recording) (2) Fix Game Capture HD 5 minutes response time issue, when adjust time/date settings in FW 3.1.4 (3) Support recording pause function cause when I turn on 1080p on my ps3 the screen looks fine =but all recordings have a rainbow effect or distorted look to them compared to when its set to 1080i. could it be due to the other 3 setting being turned on that causes the 1080p feature to screw up or is that feature for 1080p only for Xbox 360

What you may be doing is using the yellow video composite cable inserted into the green component video input phono on the recorder. You need to put the green component into the green input. The reason they have a green phono on component is because this passes the pictures geometry and SYNC. The red and blue are simply colours. Also have you tried a direct aproach instead of the supplied video adpator cable. Also your console may be set to Composite video output only and not component. Is it a PS3 or Xbox? Hope this helps.

randommantime Welcome Randommantime , Glad to help. Cool info. It may be that you put the Green component video output cable from the recorder into the yellow composite video input ( Phono) on your TV.

Can anyone help me? There are the 3 cables and 1 each for PS3/Xbox/Wii. I plug in the PS3 one where it goes, but there is another PS3 that goes there which links the PS3 to the TV. If I take it out the PS3 doesn't work! Help?

Whenever I stop recording, the whole screen turns white. The sound effects and controls still work, but the picture isnt there and whenever I exit the game, it turns back to normal. This only happens on my PS3. It never happened on my Xbox. Does anybody have a solution? Is it because I've got the HDMI and AV Cables both plugged in?
