Set up reduction time - What are you are going use it for?

When carry out a set up reduction exercise what do you are going to do with that extra time? Will you please yourselves or please the customers?

Thanks Paul for your helpful videos. My understanding is that frequent setup changes to produce in smaller batches helps with smaller finished goods & WIP inventory and so the factory space needed is less. Also it results in level loading of orders to upstream suppliers to reduce the bull whip effect. Does this understanding resonate with yours?

Yes it does - Reduced batch sizes will have a dramatic positive financial effect, not just in the ways you describe, but in lots of un-measurable ways as well...
