Now this is an excellent video on the topic!! I know all this stuff and watch these for fun to see who makes videos that will help and who makes videos that are a waste of time. You spoke quickly and went through it fairly fast, but this covers it all except one small thing. The monitor button on each track! In order to monitor back through Cubase while setting levels and recording, you have to use the monitor button on each track that you are recording. (It's the small speaker icon beside the record button on each track.) If you monitor direct from the interface, you won't need to click that icon to hear. Cheers

My guitar or vox is playing live whether I have the track armed or not? It is still recording when I arm the track and hit play to record but when I stop the song and unarm the the track. My guitar is still audible? I just got a focusrite clarett +2pre. I used to have a 2 channel scarlett. I would have to arm the track to hear the inst. being played. The clarett has its own internal software? I am new to all this forgive my ignorance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It seams like there is reverb on it? I selected default setting on the focusrite. Only way I could get the headphones to work? Please God help me!! -Ozzy Thank you.

Hai friend- You doing good job for beginners like me. I have a problem- I am using scarlett solo- focusrite sound card. It has one mike input and one instrument in put. I connected my speacker and one mike. From my soundcard headphone out i connected to my pc in put which is realtek on borad sound card. From realtek out put i connected back to my focusrite instrument in put. I am trying to record skype record audio using focusrite. Landed in confusion. Please help me. Iam from India.

In case you are still struggling with this. You should not be sending sound from your interface to your PC from the headphone output. You should have a USB cable connected from interface to computer. Then go into computer and switch from realtek soundcard to Focusrite sound card. (Sound card and interface are the same thing) Now all sounds will go from Focusrite to computer via USB cable and come back to Focusrite through the same USB. Hook your speakers to the Focusrite. Put your headphones into the Focusrite. All sounds coming from computer will be there. All mics and instruments plugged into Focusrite will go directly to PC through USB. The key is to CHANGE from Realtek soundcard to Focusrite sound card. You were using both. That will work to get sound but it's not how your Focusrite was supposed to be used. I hope all is well and you're having fun recording! Cheers!

Please can you do a video on how to use two audio interfaces to record at the same time
@mrchumley2 жыл бұрын
Cubase only lets you use one interface at a time. If you're using a Mac, you could create an aggregate device in Audio MIDI Setup comprising your two interfaces, and use the aggregate device as your sound driver in Cubase (I actually do this with three different devices).

If more channels is why you want to use two interfaces, just get a larger interface. Behringer makes an 8 channel for under 400 bucks Canadian. And don't dis Behringer interfaces!! It won against the big guys in a blind shootout!! They are perfectly fine!! If you want even more channels, the 8 channel Behringer preamp connects to the 8 channel interface via adat and you get 16 channels! The preamp unit is about 350 Canadian. Or if you can find a Behringer x32 mixer used for a decent price you get the 32 channel interface that's built in!! That's 32 channels of recording at same time! You can send them all back out to 32 separate channels to the x32 as well if you wanted. Cheers and hope all is awesome!

I have a Tascam Series 208i interface, do I absolutely have to monitor the sound coming from Cubase through the interface or can I route the audio through my PC's soundcard/speakers?
@66fitton Жыл бұрын
You can only use one interface/soundcard at a time in PC. If you choose your Tascam for recording, the computer soundcard is inactive. If you switch back to it, your Tascam won't work. "Soundcards" and "interfaces" are the same thing to a PC. You can only use one at a time. MAC is a different story. They have a way lol. Not familiar with it but I know you can use two interfaces with a MAC... Cheers

Are you using cubase 11? This video was done in cubase 10.5. So now in cubase 11 it is called just "audio system" and then in the ASIO driver drop down menu, you can choose your interface!

Thanks for watching! Yes, I realize I talked very fast in a lot of videos... I have slowed down in my new videos! :) If anything was difficult to understand because of the speed, please let me know and I can clarify! :)
