Let's talk about more set ups that were never paid off in Naruto. The Naruto series and Naruto Shippuden as well had several concepts introduced to them that were never fully explored, either because Kishimoto didn't like them or just because they wouldn't fit the story. Let's talk about characters like Konohamaru, Shino, Hashirama's secret jutsu he gave to Sasuke so he could defeat Madara, Dosu.
Naruto becoming the Hokage was another massive set up that was never paid off in the Naruto Anime, only in the Naruto Manga. If you want to see an animated Hokage Naruto you have to watch Boruto, unfortunately.

It's simultaneously the best and worst quality of his writing. He introduces all these cool characters with interesting abilities, they have one fight where they're awesome and show off their unique personality and jutsu. Then they're just useless for the entire rest of the series and become background, doing nothing of import. There's a few exceptions, but the vast majority of characters get this treatment. It's especially true for the Ninja Academy characters from part 1 going to part 2.

The crazy thing Kishimoto has never not 1 time shown us the byakugan opening someone gates. He had to completely forget about this concept cause never even had another situation where someone chakra points got blocked. Kishimoto must hate the Hyuga and the Yamanaka clan cause they are booty cheeks

Maybe the structure of the entire series? Based on the first arc, it seemed like Naruto would go on missions in traveling to other places with their own minor arcs (instead of just Akatsuki and Sasuke). I would have loved to see Naruto explore the Land of Whirlpools.

the first arc setup narutos intent, the point of the land of waves arc is to directly tell us that the show is is built upon finding flaws in the shinobi system and how our MC can find solutions to prevent these issues from reoccurring through his ideal envisionemnt of 'hokage' in which he learnt through his experiences and gatherings of opposing ideologies throughout the show. The whole construct of naruto is built upon unravelling what's flawed by overcoming the burden the title 'kage' holds. * For instance, in the first arc zabuza gives us a solid rundown on what shinobi are perceived as, replaceable mercenaries that fight in order for the greater nations to stay afloat and dominant withing the ever changing times. - That's the point of the land of waves, to adventure out of the village in order for narutos colour tinted glasses to finally be ripped off, to see the truth that lies behind the 'happy village' and the cost it takes to sustain this 'happy village' (shinobi). That's the only reason they explored outerly. To help strengthen narutos morale and give him a true reason to become hokage, - to change the system. - - It was never implied that naruto would be doing travelling, pay attention to the story instead of throwing out nonsensical ramblings alike the creator of this video.

With Dozu, what bugs me the most is that Neji was "shocked" when he used the byakugan to see under the bandages, and then we get... Nothing. To date, we don't know what he saw that got him so surprised

Naruto's dream was to be accepted. Hokage was just what he thought he needed to do to be accepted. So his actual dream is achieved in the end of the pain arc.

Once everyone loved him, his dream was fullfiled. The only way for him to still want to be Hokage would be what he said in the Zabuza arc where he wanted to make a world without that much suffering, but that part of his resolve is very fumbled

Still, becoming Hokage is the cherry on top for Naruto’s perseverence and effort being rewarded. He fulfilled his dream in the Pain arc, but he still did want to become Hokage afterwards into the later arcs and still now treats his position with due respect in the Boruto series. Granted, anyone who even remotely tunes in to the Naruto sphere of the internet near guaranteed knows he becomes Hokage, so it’s a bit of a non-issue anyways in regards to the video.

Who cares about that? Be honest with us, Did you like that you were unable to see him becoming Hokage? Just imagine it: Kakashi gives a speech, ask Naruto to come closer so everyone in the place can see him, gives Naruto the Hokage hat and then Naruto says his own very emotional speech in front of all the people to finally put the hat and then everyone begin to celebrate, his friends are happy, Hinata, Sakura, Kakashi and Iruka cry and finally Sasuke who was hiden just smiles and congrats his friend before wish him luck and leaves the place, after all of this a final shot of Naruto with the hat and an emotional music is shown and then the screen goes to black and Naruto Shippuden officially ends. Some parts can be changed but, What sound better? The endings that were used in the anime and manga that only made "Naruhina" and "We want a next generations" fans happy or the one that i described which could possibly make everyone happy? You can actually chose the canon ones if you want but at least you have to admit that the one i described Is way better than the BS that happened in canon, Himawari one shoting Naruto and Konohamaru being in his place was just a slap in the face to everyone, that wasn't funny it was an insult.

The world in naruto part 1 seemed so huge and all these characters got spotlight and then that all shrunk in shippuden. I understand kishimoto had to progress the overall story but still it was a shame to see so many storylines and characters get put on the back burner.

Neji being a genius who overtook the head family in skill was completely forgotten, including the jutsu that made them realize that, the 64 palm rotation, which easily should've been able to destroy that twig that kills him. They spit at his character in order to say "oh look he grew, he died for the main house anyway"

Most people sleep on Chouji but it's noticiable even in the manga that he's in kind of a squad leading role during the war arc. Sure he only got maybe like 2 big fights in the entire thing but he for sure got more respect out of Kishimoto than Neji, Shino and Lee did.

In the war Hinata uses the gentle fist on Naruto's chakra point to loosen Naruto's shoulder but aside from that the hyuga never boost chakra. It would have been cool to see Neji use his byakugan to help Tsunade with Lee's operation.

He then forgot to teach Lee about self respect so he wouldn't sacrifice his life so early to achieve one dream. Kakashi is a terrible sensei because he focuses on Sasuke at first due their similar nature as people and in life both losing people they cared about. He then trains Naruto because he was the son of his sensei. Instead of helping Sakura with genjutsu he just forgets about her despite noting her talent. Kurenai was more focused on her own life than on her students. This lead to Kiba copying Naruto's goal. Shino staying reserved instead of learning how to socialise and Hinata being a simp instead of fighting to prove she deserved Naruto's love. Asuma was overall the best sensei of the main four because he left all his students with a valuable teaching while he was alive. Though you could argue Shikamaru and Choji were his favourite's compared to Ino.

Neji literally was reduced to a plot point Iruka became a cheerleader, kurenai just got pregnant, konohamaru remained useless, lee became a background character.

I remember a conversation were Kakashi was explaining types of elemental chakras to Naruto during his Rasengan Training, there was this question that Naruto did were he asked what about Kekkei Genkais like Shikamaru's shadows and stuff. Yamato interrupts and says something like "maybe is too soon to be talking about light and dark attributes" and that's it. We see those light and dark attributes when a tailed beast makes a bijuu damma but outside of that we never heard the explanations of how or why people develop their own kekkei Genkai.

"Dark and light" are yin and yang releases that are additional natures. Shikamaru uses that dark/shadow/yin release, not a Kekkei Genkai. It's just that his jutsu is only taught by his clan. The bijuu dama doesn't have a nature, and it's made out of pure positive and negative chakra (whatever that means).

An arc exploring the worlds of summoned creatures would have been sick too. We saw a bit of the toads’s world in Pain’s arc, but it would have been cool to see kishimoto expand the relationships between summoned beasts and ninjas.

That would’ve made a great Academy arc within Boruto, because it would give a slice of life way of exploring the minds of the new generation, along with concepts of having more than one summoning contract. (IE: lineage contracts, and Destin contracts.) IE: Sarada having issues about signing the slug or snake contract, Boruto resenting the insistence of him signing the toad scroll just because his dad & grandpa did. While also giving Kiba something to do besides being a spokesman for pet food. Considering his clan techniques are similar to the relationship between the summoner and his primary summoned familiar. So he would be the perfect teacher to expand the concept.

A setup I like that was forgotten was the fact the hidden leaf village was a hidden ninja village that people would solicit for help. Like what happened to that? Suddenly the leaf village has military 10,000+ strong and is a big leader in the (shinobi) world. The first arc with team Kakashi was a good example of what it was to be in this world but they never go back to it after the chunin exam.

Iirc it was stated that the five kage having villages were significantly stronger than the others which is what gave them the right to have a kage in the first place (said during the bridge builder mission). So it makes sense for them to have a large number of ninja (especially since they have the anbu which is not an active part of the external force as well). I greatly enjoyed the naruto setting, a lot more than the story. I was quite upset with the in lore retconning of most things, as "aliens."

For me, it as that, even if Naruto want to go after Sasuke and all... well, no matter how he feels, he still is a ninja and he has mission to complete, and this is final. Regarding the clans, the whole clan purges within the Mist was a really major event that was utterly sidelined and then forgotten. Remember, Haku was from the Yuki clan, and that whole ice manipulation was his kekkei genkai. There could've been an entire refugee crisis or something.

Talking about refugees, I always wondered why the surviving Uzumaki didn't try to go to Konoha which is an ally village. I feel like there should have been a few actual Uzumaki moving there. I can understand for Uzumaki that may have been captured/kidnapped (maybe like Karin and her mother) that they wouldn't, but I feel like some would have somehow managed to escape and get to Konoha. Naruto could have either been raised by them but always feel like he doesn't belong because he doesn't have their red hair or this time, they would even have taken his surname away, maybe. (I prefer the first. Plus, if there is a Uzumaki clan out there, even in the case they didn't raise Naruto, they could serve as a way to protect him from Minato's enemies, because anybody would think the child of the 4th Hokage would be raised by someone, not left to fend all alone)

Imagine if Shino helped in the fight with pain by having a bug eat chakra from a path of pain. He would then use the chakra to have the bug locate Nagato's body. The bug would then eat away at Nagato's chakra over the course of the fight until Nagato ran out. This way Naruto could technically get a W without the nine tails and instead with the help of his ally furthering Kurama's motivation to link up with Naruto after witnessing how teamwork makes the dream work.

The reason Granny Chiyo's revival ability was never utilized again was because she was the only weilder of it. She perfected the resurrection Jutsu, and took the secret of it to her grave. Though it would have been neat to see Sakura eventually reverse engineer it, especially after all the death she saw and how it would effect the final battle where they're fighting zombies everywhere............... I have nothing else to say. That would have been cool.

After losing to Kankuro, Lady Granny Chiyo could have told him about the location of a scroll that could teach the jutsu, and asking him to tell Sakura, so that she could learn it.

It would also go with the theme to stop mistrusting others from other villages, because a justu that Chiyo made with other Sand ninja, she ultimately decides to teach it to Sakura, a Leaf ninja, worst yet, the student of Tsunade, her biggest rival. (I think it would have been more understandable that Sakura used this to save Naruto's life when he as dying from the nine-tail being taken out. Don't get me wrong, it as great to see her pumping his heart and all, but the ide of just going to shove the other half of Kurama in a already weakened Naruto was not so great)

We never see Naruto going back into the land of waves to visit Inari even though Naruto promised him. I would have loved to see Naruto visit the town again in Shippuden and see how the town's grown since the Great Naruto Bridge was completed and see how Inari has grown as a person.

Yugao’s unresolved revenge quest of finding who killed her lover Hayate. Would have been nice seeing her avenge Hayate by killing Baki or spare him to develop her character. The Anbu are known for intelligence gathering so she might have been able to find out who killed Hayate. Kurenai being this Genjutsu expert but got owned by Part 1 Itachi. Genjutsu is useless unless you’re an Uchiha or Tayuya who are better at it. After the humiliating battle, she got pregnant by Asuma and disappeared into the background. The mystery of the Uzumaki Clan. They left scrolls behind and a history but the members just disappeared, faded into history just like the Senju. The Uzumaki and Senju helped formed Konoha with the Uchiha but there’s mostly regular civilians in the village. It’s seems members in both clans just give up the life of being shinobis.

Nah, Senju and Uchiha formed Konoha. Uzumaki were in Uzushiogakure. Uzumaki are blood relatives of the Senju, though. They have their emblems on their clothing. Most were probably killed, and the rest went off into other lands (Hence, Nagato, Karin, and Naruto being related but in different villages)

I always think it’s weird when you can tell the writer changed the power system at some point. Some abilities just seem to not fit in with how the power system is explained later or the writer simply pulls out a second system that was never planned before. I feel like someone would have used that second power system in the hundreds of previous chapters if the writer had known about it from the start...

I can think of something else that was dropped along the way. Kuchiyose. Yes, we have seen multiple kuchiyose jutsus across the series, and we have all Sennin summons happen until the end of the war, but think about it, outside of filler content: Aburame's bugs, Inuzuka's Dogs, Hatake's Dogs, Sarutobi's monkeys, even Tsunade's snails. At some point it seemed like most big ninjas or big families had pacts with big creatures; animals which mind you, are sentient and capable of making choices and pacts of their own. You think in this world with tailed beasts and giant sentient animals, they'd play a bigger role and have nations and purpose... but they kinda don't. In fact, until the inception of the Jinchuriki being a thing fairly late, it can be argued that the Kyuubi was one of such intense sentient mystical animals. Even the way their jutsus work are weird. To be able to summon one, you're supposed to write a freaking blood pact with these things. What is it that they're asking in return? It isn't their souls because the Edo Tensei still revived Sarutobi. Is it their service/help? If so for what do giant frogs the size of buildings need the help of a couple ninjas for? Speaking of souls, isn't it rather weird how Sasuke and Naruto can be the reincarnation of people that were revived? Isn't that like, the opposite of the concept of reincarnation? If reincarnation is the next body of a soul, Hashirama and Madara couldn't have been revived while Naruto and Sasuke were alive. Is it talking about the Otsusuki powers specifically? Because then it's also weird because Naruto and Sasuke still use them agaisnt Madara and Kaguya. Is it a cheeky poetic way of mentioning like "oh it's the spirit of the thing, as in they/fell/act the same"? Because if so it's weird that Naruto and Sasuke are the only ones to use/get very useful jutsu specific to each path.

Buddhist reincarnation, which is what Naruto is inspired by, doesn't have immortal souls. The chakra in Naruto that survives onto the next reincarnations is more of a lineage of karma (the Buddhist/Dharmic concept). There is no essence of a true self, but living beings come into existence as a result of other living beings. (Not just in their direct birth but the things that affect the circumstances of the world) The thing that gets reborn is our _suffering_, which is very present in the theme of Naruto whenever they talk about reincarnation. The Indra and Ashura cycle is literally a cycle of conflict, facilitated through the robustness of their chakra.

A passing down of anything other than a feeling implies the vanquishing of the prior, it would work like a successor or an inheritor; which wouldn't be the case. But it can't also just be the passing down of the suffering because there's a whole set of powers attached to it. I get it when things like the Sharingan mention "to get their eyes" or "suffering as a trigger" as a metaphor for seeing something from someone else's point of view; but it gets confusing and convoluted quickly when you're talking about the revived dead passing down something.

My headcanon for the sound village is that its basically a village of prisoners, delinquents and missing nin who ran away from a major village and Orochimaru took them in. It would be operated similar to how the Rain Village was ran and maybe have similar asthetics but a mix and match of different infrstructure from other villages but with more washed out coloring to match the grey uniforms they wore Seeing the patterning on their clothes reminds me of military camo so maybe their society was more militaristic and brutal. If you think about it, one of the most underdeveloped ideas was the existence of Kakashi's dad. You know, the Sakumo Hatake, renowned as the "White Fang of the Leaf", whose prowess rivaled even the Sannin. And the only pieces we get are his suicide in Kakashi's backstory, his mention of killing Sasori's parents, and the encounter with Kakashi after his "death" in the Pain arc. Though all of these moments served the story in some way, his hype is ruined by the fact we literally DON'T KNOW why the hell he was so famous and powerful. Give Sakumo a reanimation in FSWW or something, we'd at least got an actual fight showing his abilities.

to be honest, i don't like Naruto becoming a Hokage in any situation. since the Kage are almost all corrupt evil bastards, and, lets be real, other than Tsunade and Gaara, they kinda do all deserve to die for their various warcrimes, Sasuke wasn't entirely wrong. lets not forget the sins of the Hokage themselves, like the racist Hokage Tobirama, neglectful Hokage Sarutobi, deadbeat dad Hokage Minato (don't seal a demon inside your kid at the very least you freak), and so yeah. and lets not forget the entire way of becoming Hokage is Nepotism, which isn't exactly good. my own feelings on Kage themselves aside, story-wise, Naruto only wanted to be Hokage so people would respect him. but over time, he learns that one does not become Hokage to be respected, but because they *are* respected. what do Kage even do? sign paperwork? they're just politicians in the end, they're prime ministers, presidents. Naruto became beloved by the entire Leaf after he beat Pain, and became beloved by the entire WORLD AS WE KNOW IT after sealing away an ancient alien God. what i'm saying, is all of Naruto's motivations for becoming Hokage are gone. it would be different if he become ninja president to change the Leaf, but in Boruto, we see he hasn't changed a thing. there's still child soldiers who are trained to endanger their lives and murder others, there's still poor, abused children.. what good has Naruto DONE as a Hokage? nothing, so what's the point? just another politician who makes promises and doesn't fulfil them, that's what Naruto Uzumaki is.

Another I would like to add is summoning's: Remember when in the chunin exams arc when they opened the heaven/earth scrolls and inside was a summing for Iruka sensei, Imagine how this would affect the story if this was not retconned. Imagine Naruto is losing a fight then he just summons a jonin to help out or imagine Jiraiya vs pain/Nagato and Jiraiya summons a piece of wire meanwhile in the leaf there is a genin who sees that Jiraiya's light is off and then Jiraiya is summoned back to Konoha.

Part 2 meet Hinata and then when going with neji in gaaras retrieval arc have him talk to Naruto about Hinata. Back at the village talks to Hinata about her past being kidnapped and such which sets up the cloud village for Naruto to call out later on. They date here or after the Sasuke arc and then things can line up perfectly by just giving down time to Naruto and Hinata. Heck his training could have been Hinata instead of asuma Sensei as huuga basically use wind style and boom a deeper bond forms from training. Then everything else lines up perfectly and add a couple scenes of Hinatas dad loosening up bit by bit and the neji death would work better

Any kunoichi being a strong ninja was pretty much always backed by ‘for a woman lol’ in terms of the writing. They introduce ANY strong female ninja and then they either sit in the background and get weak or become a plot point (to die or to be saved). There are some glaring examples. Temari had some serious potential in part one, and part 2 sidelined her immediately. Kurenai was an elite genjutsu user who they just used to show how amazing Itachi was, and then is just never utilized and was retired and pregnant. Konan was killed for plot (and also lost because she doesnt have broken special eyes). Tsunade was cool in part one and then was reduced to old lady president, shortly coming back to cool against Madara, and then being lame again. We’re not even gonna talk about his disdain for Sakura.

She was reduced to being Tsunade's secretary, something I am sure you could ask of a normal citizen. Great video like usual, but there are a few things I can dissect and explain to you, starting with what you said about Chiyo; The Jutsu she uses to bring Gaara back to life, is a Jutsu she created when she was the Head of a sector in the sand village during the Second Great Shinobi War named "The Puppet Brigade", the Jutsu she created was called "Ones Own Life Reincarnation" there are two ways this Jutsu works; on a person that's still alive or on a person that is dead. When used on a person that is still alive this Jutsu will FULLY heal their injuries (Example, let's say I am fighting DygoKnight abd and I hit him with a Chidori right through his stomach and you're still alive but have a giant hole in your chest and you're loosing so much blood you will die in about 15 seconds. All of a sudden Granny Chiyo flys around the corner on a web like Spiderman "obviously this would never happen but just play along for the explanation and lulz* she lands right beside DygoKnight there's 6 seconds left until hes fut dead she does the hand signs for Ones Own Life Jutsu, she puts her hands right on Gaara's chest the jutsu fully heals all of his injuries and he survives.) Since Gaara wasn't dead whrn she used the Jutsu she survives using it but she passes out and is going to be passed out in a bed at the hospital for a few days until all of her chakra is back. *side note if she used the jutsu on somebody with a tiny scratch it would still have the same effect on her body. I assume because the Jutsu always uses your whole Chakra reserve except for enough to keep you alive, the reason it will kill you when being used to bring somebody back from the dead the Jutsu will work in the same way except you're also grabbing their soul from the pure lands* When used on a person who is already dead the Jutsu works the exact same way except the Jutsu will kill you in the end. Finally the reason you dont see older people being forced to revive top Shinobis after they have passed is because Granny Chiyo didn't teach anybody at all how to do this Jutsu and I think the reason for that is because she didn't want people to be forced to use it to heal Shinobi who have either been shit on in combat and there is no other way to heal them. Also because if this ended up happening the next logical step for a village would be when your top Shinobi die in combat elderly people would be forced to do this to revive them. Side note. I have never ever typed a comment this long in my life not on any platform the funny thing is i would have never guessed i typed this much in under 10 minutes lmfao.

I think Hashirama also told Sasuke that Madara sees him as his younger brother that died and to use that against him. But next scene Sasuke just jumps in and gets stabbed anyway. I thought Sasuke might try to manipulate him a bit after learning that info. Also with Naruto's ability of "sensing hatred" that helped clear out the zetsu could've been used again before the Sasuke v Naruto final fight. Would've been cool to see Naruto after saying bye to his dad calmly turn around to Sasuke and say, "You're not gonna complete the seal with me, are you Sasuke?" Knowing he has to fight him first because he can sense the hatred still. Then maybe Sasuke scoffs and says, "You really think you know me naruto.." Then proceeds to capture the tailed beasts and everyone else is surprised about it except Naruto. That's not really a missed setup lol I just thought it would be cooler since Naruto gained that weird ability.

I always thought that the sound genin were pretty cool. They had unique jutsu and added more danger to the chunin exams along with Gaara. Zaku was even given a flashback to show why he was so loyal to orochimaru and Dosu was able to figure out that they were just being used and vowed to prove himself. Dosu ended up being killed off in a way that contradicted his character and orochimaru used Zaku and Kin as sacrifices to the reanimating jutsu when he could’ve just used some of his foot soldiers or test subjects. It just felt like a waste of good villain potential

the smaller villages were forgotten so much that even fanfiction writers barely use them anymore. in fact, the Chuunin exams shown in the series were supposed to be among allies, implying that Leaf was allied to Sand, Sound, Waterfall, Rain, and Grass. i've read a lot of fanfic, and they have Cloud, Mist, and Rock be there, even though 2 out of those 3 were said early on that they were historical enemies of Konoha. to give you an equivalent of what that means, it would mean the US military conducting common exercises with the Russian or the Chinese army NOW when the tensions are so high.

Dosu in my opinion was one of the few cases of a Jobber character done right. Characters like Renji and Chad do a poor job of a jobber for they were never really strong to begin with. But when Dosu first appeared, you heard boss music, he won every fight he was in, his moves were terrifying, and he was one of the first ninjas in naruto who genuinely fought to kill, not for sport. When dosu and Garra came out, they were very simmiliar characters. Very dangerous ninja, with scary attacks, where if they fought you, it was with the genuine attention to kill. And they were both collecting Ws quickly. So to see a fight against the two of them, and for one to win so one sidedly, it was with the clear purpose to show the naruto fans, who the real boss and main threat was. And it did so amazingly well.

I mean sure, it did that job perfectly but the lack of aknowledgment overall of his death lessened the whole thing. The Sound Genin were overall jobbers but they were very well designed (imo), they were intriguing (they were the only Sound ninja we've seen), they had very unique abilities (I guess... Kin was a bit mid) and they intentionally went after our protagonists which made them feel...like something. And then in just a few episodes they were scrapped. Zaku got a good backstory given to him, good motivation to keep going, he even did the cool "trump card" speech before being wrecked by Shino. Then we were left with Dosu to avenge his teammates (at least him and Zaku were shown kinda close...clsoer than most bad guys in Naruto since then. They both saved each other...kinda ignoring Kin a bit.) and...he's gone. Offscrean. No body batted an eye. And yes it is perfectly explained. orochimaru didn't care about them, they were just a test for Sasuke. It was further aknowledged in Shipuuden when Kabuto said that he (Dosu) outlived his usefullness. And the other two were just sacrificed for the reincarnation jutsu (Kin really got the short-straw here). It feels like... a massive let down. And a bummer. And it was 100% baiting us to beleive at least Dosu had a bigger role to play. He was actively shown as competent and intelligent. Those ar enot qualities you give your bad guys unless you have plans for them. He was strategic, had cool look, cool skills, a mission and was mysetious which made him intriguing. And yes he was perfect for bigging up Gaara but at that point Gaara didn't need that. He just crushed Lee's limbs. We saw him kill before. Sure he had a bit hyper taken back by Lee damaging him a lot and in a way it served to show us his hidden strengh was massive (Dosu beat Lee. Gaara beat Lee. But Lee went all out and hurt Gaara. So are we suppsoed to stillf ear Gaara? Yes...he just stomped Dosu who we thought was threatening). Still it feels like it wa sbuiulding up to either Dosu defecting (as he was well aware of orochimaru's plans. He said so in his inner monologue. Even if he was determined at that point to show his worth to Orochimaru it could've very well shown us an Anko type of story. Hell it could've given Anko something to do... Perhaps training Dosu so they can both get back at orochimaru.) And I have to admit I'm saying msot of that as someone who immediately liked Dosu and Zaku and was left butthurt when they were so unceremoniously killed off. I wanted to see soo much more from them (and later from the Sound 5). But even trying to shake off my biasness I still think Dosu at least had more to give to the story and was underutilised. Hell the whole Sound village angle was under-utilised. After the Sound 5 the village was practically defunct.

I like your theory. What could have even helped more was that it was only when he was "near the end of his life" aka being stabbed to near death by Madara, that Sasuke awakened the Rinnegan. It could work that it isn't so much about Age but being close to death. Especially if we go off the idea that the Sage of Six Paths is God and you get closer to him the closer to death you get.

My theory is that hashirama gave Sasuke a non kekkei genkai way of absorbing tailed beast chakra, but it requires the target to be immobile for a bit. Which he wouldn't see as too much of a problem because one of Sasuke's allies is an Uzumaki and might have a bunch of seals stashed away or can make one if given the time. He didn't get the chance with Madera but instead used it on the beasts when he locked them up to use indra's arrow.

Sand has the Kazekage clan but that was created because each Kazekage is related to one another. In the novels it explains that Shikadai could potentially be used as an asset to control the sand village because of in mother being the daughter of Rasa. The stone seems to have something similar The cloud have the A family with a B as their partner. The Mist have the strongest of the village dynamic. They also have generational ninja swordsmen which in Boruto is suggested to be a family tradition. The swords are passed down to the next of kin As for actual clans try to come up with a few in the rewrite I guess 😅.

I think a fun idea for dosu could have been for him to not actually be dead from gara but instead majorly wounded and then have danzo bring him to the root and act as a foil to sai getting closer to danzo. You could also have him in the tenshi bridge arc actually fight sasuke just to show how strong sasuke is while still giving him the fight he had been wanting.

I think the whole situations with lots of unfulfilled payouts towards the end of the war arc is because Kishimoto was setting up for how the cast would defeat Madara... and that original ending didn't include demigods or Kaguya. Tenten was probably going to be a legendary hero by figuring out how to use the Sage's tools (probably with help from other cast members because she didn't have enough chakra to even swing the fan more than twice), Hashirama was supposed to give Sasuke the means to beat Madara, and then.... the publishers told Kishimoto he had to segue into a sequel he had no intentions of setting up for. Then, BAM, Kaguya and Six Path BS and a whole bunch of broken plotlines.

Kishimotos world building sucks, throughout the entire series we barely know anything outside of Leaf village. We learn of jugos sage clan, the Kaguya clan, The otsotsuki are a clan, Hamuras moon clan, kisames clan, suigetsus clan, and a few others I can’t think of right now. Those for sure are clans that are mentioned though in anime or in manga at some point. So technically there is mention of clans outside of the leaf.
