1:38 to 2:03 are words to live by and reflect how even Rengoku knows he is the most noble and righteous character in the show because he essentially just told Tanjiro to follow the entire philosophy that makes up Rengoku’s character. He’s found the way of dealing with any grief that I strive to attain. He doesn’t stop to grieve, he kind of bottles it up but he puts it behind him and makes piece with the bottle, he solves it, and any grief that he doesn’t make piece with he hides it in his face to keep it from causing others to feel grief for him. Not only does he achieve the acceptance stage, which I have trouble with, but he flips his grief on its head and uses it as fuel to push him forward and he keeps going. He doesn’t avoid it or grieve it, he just accepts his grief on the spot though it’s obviously still with him in a way.
@maverillion46102 жыл бұрын
I like your interpretation. My interpretation of his words is: grieve when you need to grieve, but when you must move on, you must move on. Don’t linger on what has happened, but build a future that hasn’t happened

Going to be honest, bottling it up and putting it aside is not a realistic way to deal with grief. It's important to grieve your losses, but also to know that once you've got it out, there is no changing it. The only option is forward.

Okay: not only does this speech do a brilliant job of showing just how human this man is yet show how brave he is, it is incredibly sweet. He sees people of value in Tanjiro and Nezuko in a way that neither of most others of the Hashira did. People worth dying for but he doesn’t want them to be sad that he is dying. He wants them to go far beyond everything that he has ever done. This surpasses most anime mentors in a way that I can’t even really fathom since they knew each other for an evening. Set your heart ablaze. Also, it’s the Demon Slayer Corps/Corp not Core.

'''If you are feeling disheartened. That you are somehow not enough. Set your heart ablaze.'' These words immediately made him one of the greatest heros in all of anime. His final words were intended purely to inspire those around him. To give them hope and inspiration. He stuck to his convictions to the very end. He proved everyone wrong and became powerful without having to rely on talent. Just like fire, he is the epitome of passion. He valued his work. He valued the lives of others. Always put a smile on his face regardless of how dire the situation was. Rengoku treated Tenjero and the other Demon Slayer as equals and showed them genuine kindness despite his superior position. He died, not only saving Tenjero...but the other demon slayers and the over 200 innocent passengers aboard. His actions and quick thinking allowed for ZERO innocent casualties and the near defeat of an Upper Moon 3 demon. Rengoku truly set my heart ablaze by his words and actions. The fact he was able to have such a profound impact on the audience despite only prominently be seen in a 2 hour movie just shows how well the character was crafted.

Rengoku is quite possibly the best written character in all of anime as he shows the devotion of any man and further, he cares for anyone no matter their circumstances but most of all he was able to make all of us cry at his death. For someone who was portrayed as somewhat of an asshole when he was introduced even allowing an innocent girl to be harmed just because of the fact that she was a demon he was handled perfectly in the movie, turning him from an asshat to someone with a heart of gold or more appropriately "A blazing heart"

These past 3 years have been so heavy for me but I try to do what I can not just for myself and others but demon slayer made me cry harder than anything else rengokus words felt like to me not just to tanjiro and the others but also to yourself even as he says "if your feeling disheartened or somehow that you are not enough set your heart ablaze dry your eyes and look ahead" and also "you may feel like digging your heals in but the flow of time waits for no one" such small sentences but so much meaning to them with grieving over a lot I haven't been able to accomplish and my own anxiety about moving forward again this scene along shook me and brought me to tears cause my parents also struggled with trying to help me and i k ow they try they're amazing for that but I think hearing this is what helped me have more clarity and seeing what I can do and just trying just a bit more so from now on I'll set my heart ablaze and look ahead thank you rengoku

"Set your heart ablaze! dry your eyes and look ahead!" -Rengoku 2023. That was the first and only time I cried for a character in a show.

When you realise that the real people can’t boost you up but walking running sketches can make you cry, laugh, angry and emotional, that’s anime for ya.. I love you Rengoku, I wish you were real, would have worshipped you. Man, am I crying as I am typing… Set your heart ablaze…. 🔥

This part right here where I broke tears, kudos to voice actor ( The fading of voice to low and low is what gets me 🥹😭)
