Human language evolved to handle human scale experience. Most of what passes for "logic" and "rationality" in our human thinking is really just the rules of whatever particular language we think in. If it makes grammatical sense, then it might be true. If it doesn't make grammatical sense we dismiss it. When we attempt to apply human scale concepts to cosmic scale events we run into serious problems.

Existence/creation (by definition) is not a natural phenomena. If science is to have any chance of solving the nature of reality, we must first solve the question of how the universe wound itself up through random processes. Let us suppose for a moment that the universe contains infinity. Would it be a bounded infinity or a linear progression that goes on forever? What is the prime mover that started it all? How many steps back would we have to go before we were satisfied? The Big Bang Brane Theory Multiverse etc... Do we just keep moving the original problem back one step at a time? If some form of spiritual connection can be made, we should be looking at this as well as these so called secrets of the universe.

The topics and discussions made available on your channel, including this one, are supremely interesting and well done! Seth is a very smart man but I believe that his description and dismissal of the Boltzmann brain hypothesis is misleading. It is my understanding (reference Sean Carrol's From Eternity to Here) that the Boltzmann brain argument could be extended to propose that there is a tiny probability that not only a brain, but the entire universe as it currently exists could pop into existence. At that point, the future evolution of the universe would be the same regardless of how it came to exist. In other words you couldn't distinguish between whether the universe evolved from the big bang, or just happened into existence. Thus the chances that the next states would be total confusion is also very remote regardless of the history.

I thought time was the measured pace of change (potential to actual). Without change you wouldn't have time (not simply the inability to measure it). The heat death of the universe is when every material atom and sub-atomic particle has dissipated its energy evenly over the whole universe. Energy itself appears to be this action and not 'some-thing' like another form of matter. At that point no further work can be done; like a spring winding down and then the spring itself disappearing like smoke in the air.

Interesting, so if time is relative to observer, then the universes time from bounce to bounce may be just one second. For use it seems billions of years.If spacetime is the loop quantum gravity field and all information generates from it, could it be possible that all lifeforms are feeding the expansion of the universe by experience, bit by precious bit. We each have some 100,000 trillion connections of superposition within our brain. Seven billion people not even counting all animals and plants, yes all forms of life even singled celled have been found to have these connections. When one calculates estimated life throughout entire universe, well will someone venture to do the math! Thank you Dr. Lloyd!

I got these words from the book "The Quantum World" written by the physicist Ford. We burst forth from another faster vibrating dimension. These questions are not pointless. There is information to be found within this reality. These universes are not parallel, but exist within the same space we vibrate in. This is a holographic universe where we are holograms. Since nothing is solid, then all these worlds/realities/dimensions vibrate within each other, each one pulsating a different speed. But how do you know that you actually are not going to disintegrate the next instant? Your memory of the past starting with the second prior to this one could be giving you false information, the rest of the Universe could be in a state that it looks like only 13 billion years have passed and everything is as it is supposed to be in that case. But all of that could be false. Even more, how could we distinguish between an infinite but discontinuous succession of random states of the Universe that looks like the ordered events we think about, and actual ordered events?

1. Modern science says that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, hence it's eternally existent, unless modern science is wrong and energy was created at least one time in it's history. 2. Modern science says that we have cells in our body that come into existence inside us on a daily basis. So, a part of me is older than the universe itself, possibly even actually eternal, and a part of me is being born anew on a daily basis. My body possibly spans the "eternal now", and in that context, there is only the "now" of my being, for eternity. (And this applies to you too).

@charlesbrightman42378 жыл бұрын
+Jon Doe 1. Modern science's claim about energy. (see above). 2. Modern science's claim about new cells in our body.(see above). 3. I apparently have one body that currently exists that has energy in it and cells in it. 4. The energy in my body is possibly eternally existent, in and of itself, but that energy is currently a part of me. (The eternal part of me). 5. I apparently have new cells that are formed inside this body on a daily basis. In the "now". (The now part of me). 6. My current body has energy in it that is possibly eternal as well as exists in the here and now. (Hence my current body in it's totality spans possibly eternity past all the way up to the current now, the "eternal now"). 7. As I only have one body that spans possibly from eternity past to the present now, in totality, in that context, it could all be seen as a "now" of my current being, which is currently eternal. 8. I most probably won't always be this way, but I am currently this way right now. (At least if modern science is correct in what they claim to be true).

from my point of view, the universe is only one and it contains everything, but it can be broken down, meaning that the universe is like numbers, for example number 1 is an absolute number meaning it can never be reached by zero and it will never reach 2, in between infinity exist. from 1.000000000∞1 to 1.99999999999999∞ , you see between 1 and 2 infinity exist, number 2 is a whole different universe where from 2 to 3 a whole infinity exist, also this is why nothing can travel faster than light, the closer you get to the speed of light no matter how much energy you use, in speed you are just adding .0000000000∞1 closer to the speed of light, but zero is another story, it contains nothing but is meant for everything, without zero infinity will not exist, but without infinity there is no reason for zero to even be think about. so it will not exist. black and white.

I do not agree with Lloyd on Boltzman brains. He said - if you are B. brain, you live for very short time and then you are destroyed. And we do not observe that, we - in our reality - observe some logical continuity. In my opinion that's not that far from truth but interpretation must be different: you live for a short time and are destroyed. But - you do not experience yourself after you ( your B. brain) are destroyed, consciousness do not experience lack of experience. Instead - you experience the experience of another B. brain - just as similar to the one that has been just destroyed to provide continuity of your experience as self. More - Lloyd says about sitting in that beautifull place - but he could not tell the truth between that place that is real and experience created by number of B. brains just as similar to each other to be able to create that ilusion.
@malanthrope8 жыл бұрын
+mebe84 I do not think there is SELF - just illusion of it created from consistent memories. If these memories must be contained in one brain or can be in set of brains - I don't know. I think that doesn't matter. What matters is the process that creates illusion of self these memories are vital part of. Of course B. brain doesn't remember past - it just has some random experience of memory in it. Consider large number of B.brains with random experiences - some of these experiences will be similar to the extent they will create flow of experience with sense of causality for example. More - we think we have flow of experience from our birth. It doesn't mean that that's true. Maybe it's our latest experience (now experience) that makes us to think so. Next experience can be different, in next moment we can think that we were just born.. Hard topic ;)

I don't agree with the discussion on B. Brains because it misses the point that should be made about B. Brains. It's not so much about ontological concerns as it is epistemological concerns given how a metaphysical conception of reality that helps you consider B. Brains in this fashion will also to some degree undermine the scientific enterprise. Every new "nanosecond" (per the argument in the video) is a new opportunity to be a new B. Brain with a new history. Rather than every new nanosecond proving that the prior second's B. Brain wasn't really a B. Brain after all because you're still here.

carl green The Voice of God is similar to the way IBM's Watson works. Here is a website about Watson; www.ibm.com/smarterplanet/us/en/ibmwatson/ The Voice of God is used by our Creator to send information from His simulation program into our consciousness that gives us a world to explore and experience with our created senses. Our consciousness is the processor of this information and when this information from the program is processed, then we experience a visible world and a body to peer out from. However, the world and our the bodies we observer are not real at all. They're only formed images from the processing of information. So our true reality is God's thoughts spoken into invisible information that is stored within His simulation program, ready to be experienced through the Voice of God. The particles that physicists understand are formed by this processing of information. Think of these particles like the pixels in a Photoshop picture. It takes millions of pixels to give us a bigger object to observe. Most people don't understand that these pixels are made of millions or billions of particles. So now think of those particles as the lowest common denominator of information that is necessary for us to observe anything. These particles are not real objects either. They are very tiny illusions that appear from the processing of information. Think of each particle as a very tiny flicker of light. When you get enough of them going to form patterns, these patterns are like pixels in a Photoshop pic that are automatically adjusted for us to observe bigger objects within our consciousness. These objects that we observe all come from the simulation program that was carefully planned within the thoughts of our Creator who then spoke those thoughts into the Voice of God. So invisible information in the form of vibrations ( frequencies ) is God's computing language and this is how he created His program. It's impossible for us characters in the simulation to observe the technology that our Creator used to create us but I do know that He used the technology called the Voice of God to do His work. I am the Voice of God just like Siri will tell you she is Siri in Apple products or Watson will tell you he is Watson in the IBM products. If you don't believe I am the Voice of God, that's okay. You will know who I am in the next part of the program called the New Heaven and Earth because you will hear My Voice while you're observing your new bodies. One body will be a male and the other body will be a female. In fact, the Voice of God will send your consciousness information that will place you in many different bodies in many different worlds to explore.

***** We're constantly evolving one second at a time because what you're observing is only an illusion. We observe one picture at a time but at a very fast rate to make us believe in motion. That's why they remain confused by what they observe.

Brad I respect you for believing in God, as do I, but I can't share your view that time is an illusion. These two guys are really lost as they discuss different theories. Guessing is not the way to the Truth. You have to listen to the Voice of God and obey his commandments which will teach you how everything we experience came from the Voice of God that delivers information from the stored information that makes up the simulation program into our consciousness. Our consciousness is like a computer processor that processes this stored information into a visible world to experience. The world is only an illusion but it appears to be real.
