I am proud to say, I am one of those minority christians that balance science and religion. Im a huge believer in open mindedness and combining science and religion. I do my research. I can back up my beliefs with science and im proud of it :) there needs to be more christians like this

Well, I read The Language of God by Francis Collins for that “back up”, but after he dismantles creationism and intelligent design, the final chapter returns to that old chestnut the leap of faith. 🤨

Being my major in college IS in science, I can honestly say that if you keep an open mind in both science and religion, they absolutely coexist. (my degree seeking status- astrophysics/cog neuroscience, in case you were wondering). It's really not a stretch but I'm not gonna sit here and try to convince you. That's not my job. it's your job to research (pose a hypothesis) and come to your own conclusion based on what you research. Like scientists are supposed to do with everything.

I respect your opinion/belief because everyone is in entitled to their own, but I respectfully disagree w/it. They can and absolutely do coexist. And really, im not just saying that without knowledge to back it up. I dedicate most my days researching and writing about it. I intend to publish a book illustrating this so if you want to read it when it comes out, by all means do so. Its not intended to convert people, its intended to show people how important science is for advancement, etc.

A Christian proud of "using science" is the moral equivalent to someone who believes in Santa Claus bragging about the hours of equations they have done each night reconciling how he could feasibly visit all Christmas-celebrating houses on Earth in a single night. You still believe in Santa Claus.
