I thought the same thing. The brazen hustle of some of these arrogant pricks is disgusting. Also, having no quality control on a site like this is a problem. Like those people with apparent mental and emotional issues that audition for American Idol etc. It's the same thing, in that none of them are trying to deceive you, they ALL genuinely think they can sing. I worry about sites like Fiverr because these sneaker 'designers' may have genuinely thought they were good, like the American Idol fruitcakes, so it's awkward to have to ball them out about their utter rubbish effort. How to tell the difference between a lazy hustler and a talentless but earnest fruitcake?

I also get paid 5x less that usual, it's because you want to collect as many sales as you can, so that you will be shown in the search more often (maybe in like top 20 and not in the last 300). Then you can crank up the price as much as you want, the sales you made will be shown in the thumbnail and nobody will know if you priced it 20$ or 200$. Also people don't dare to buy a higher priced gig without it having a bunch of sales.

As a graphic designer I hate sites like Fiverr, they really diminish what it means to have talent in the design field. Anyone with actual talent is grossly underselling themselves on the platform because it makes them feel as though their work is only worth 5-100 dollars when most freelance designers like myself charge 250 minimum for our work. You get what you pay for..

I mean you're ripping people off for that much lmao
@brunolopes22055 жыл бұрын
@@herebyhereby2874 not really... a designer probably has some sort of higher education and so their work hours are worth atleast 20 to 30 dollars since the work is customizable, reviewable and specific to the customer. If a design takes 5 hours or more to make you should charge more than 100 dollars and even aim at 200 or so
@davisuko_5 жыл бұрын
@@herebyhereby2874 Maybe if you're in college and have no money. The clients I work for see that as a fair price. I have work pretty regularly. But its sites like fiverr that give people that mindset, that branding isn't worth your money and you shouldn't pay more than like $100 for your company's identity, so you get a cheap brand with a clip-art tier logo. Thankfully I don't have to rely on my freelance to live, I have a job and do it on the side, so if someone comes to me with a small start up that I like the idea of I'm not heartless, I'll help them out and cut the price. But some of my friends live on freelance, a couple of us do work for companies like the NBA but some people can't be bothered to pay more than 50 dollars and we don't take their request, because it's not worth our time. No one should undervalue themselves.
@Adrian-wd4rn4 жыл бұрын
@@davisuko_ Pretty much. I charge 150 for simple ideation sketches. No color. If they want final renders, let alone cad models, and fully explored ideas, they're looking closer to 600 bucks. Add CAD and specs, you're out 1,000+. I didn't spend 4 years in design school for no reason. If people have an issue with that price, they can go get crummy work like seen in this video for 30 bucks.
