If you were wearing wider trousers over the shoe I think it could give a cool look when it was still the overshoe. I appreciate both of the cut or uncut because it’s like wearing one of Tom Sachs sculptures on your feet because he draws a lot of inspiration from space.

Not too familiar with the story behind the Mars Yard hype. But, I’d definitely want to rock that blue outsole shoe with those tabs and straps. You did a pretty good job cutting the overshoe part off. Nice work.
@RayDoeksen3 жыл бұрын
Cus - there's a few different origin points to the "hype" - the sneaker people are a whole 'nother audience than the big Tom Sachs fanboys and art nerds. I'm one of the art fanboys and a designer/fabricator. The shoes are a part of an epic creative arc that involves NASA and JPL collab predating any Nike collab. The big driver of the hype for the people not aware of the inside baseball stuff about Tom Sachs and his studio's work has been the scarcity. The first Mars Yard shoes were only available at first, to people that came to a Tom Sachs 'demonstration' and went through the Tom Sachs' Space Program 'Space Camp.' There is a LOT of backstory if you want to get into The Studio, the sculpture, the films, the conceptual art going on, and what the weartester program for the 2.5s is about.
