Sometimes I ask myself "how much better are these guys on KZbin than I am". About 6 weeks ago I went to Highland for the first time (my second time @ a park). I saw those big features you did there (Pinkbike drop and the big wooden burm thingy with gaps on either side). I now realize you're MUCH MUCH better. Insanely better.

Seth, I once hit my funny bone really hard on the corner of a wall, the left side of my hand was completely numb for about a week after but gained full sensation back in the end
@SethsBikeHacks
@SethsBikeHacks 6 жыл бұрын
that’s comforting! I read that I should give it a few weeks and then see a doctor if it’s not gone. So hopefully you-me-same.
@jeffeyro
@jeffeyro 6 жыл бұрын
I once got hit by a baseball bat (full swing) in the funny bone. My fingers were stuck, completely locked into a fist for the first few hours. It took about 3-5 days for my pinky and ring finger to unlock and fully extend. Oddly, nothing was broken and after my fingers all came up, I was good to go!
@FindaratoCarnesir
@FindaratoCarnesir 6 жыл бұрын
I also got a serious knock in the wrong place like this (though I did it with a ladder, not a bike). I nearly passed out from the shock, and it took several days for the sensation to fully return in my hand. But ever since, I get some tingling feeling every now and then from my elbow to my pinky finger. So don't wait too long with seeing a doctor if it doesn't go away soon!

carrick dolan Seth's Bike Hacks I don’t know if it’s comparable but I got surgery on my collarbone about 9 months ago and I still have nerve damage on my chest and shoulder area from the surgery when they said it would go away. Maybe don’t wait too long!

Then when I tried to flip again, I landed on metal and now I'm too traumatized to even try to backflip again. I can still do them from hard to foam tho.

6:20 I get like this too. I've learned that when I nail it and then start pushing it, it's time to go home, rest up asap. Sleep on it, and hit it again in the morning well rested. I'll usually find myself more consistent (and flowy, like it's natural) and making less mistakes. Scientifically, it makes sense because your brain commits its neuroplasticity when you sleep well after learning or experiencing something. So good rest is essential to keeping (and further developing) your newfound skill! I know how hard it is to fight the urge to keep going back at it... usually just ends up in me getting hurt...

Just wanted to say hi and thanks for ALL the videos. I just started riding this summer with a hand me down bike I got from my brother but after watching your videos I already want to start saving and the the beginner bike you spoke of in the “Build a beginner bike video” and learn to do the stuff you do. You make it all look so easy and fun. Anyways I don’t want to take up much of your time and I just wanted to say hi and I’ll keep watching for new videos everyday. Hope to get a thumbs up from you man.

Funny bone smashes really hurt. But after a while you get the feel back it your hand. I did it in the middle of August. In two weeks i got full feeling again but for the mean time. Prepare for major pins and needles in your right hand if you sleep on it

Well done Seth. Seriously impressive stuff. Takes guts to try that, I can appreciate it as a 35yr old bike rider (roady). Would love to give it a try some day. Fantastic facility over there! Keep up the great content!

Regardless of the activity, anytime someone says that, "the off season will give me time to heal up" you know you are doing something fun. Peace.

So glad you got to go to highland again! I love riding their! Last may I crashed on the bridge on hellion and landed straight on my head. My GoPro fell off my helmet and somehow hit my face causing me to get a bunch of stiches. Overall the injury was not that bad but it sucks because my parents won’t let me ride their even though I live so close. I might be able to next season. Who knows. Nice vid!
