OMG. That arranged version was like a shot of adrenaline. And that saxophone? Smooth as butter. Loved every second of it. It's so surprising to hear that the sax is your favorite instrument, (mine, too) and it puts a smile on my face to see you enjoy it.

I think I agree with your thoughts on the super arranges for the EO series, especially pre 4 because from 4 onwards the super arranges imo start being more alternative to the original rather than a fully realised version free of technical limitations. After 4 when the series moved to the 3DS and the synths weren't necessary the music takes a serious step up imo (though the compositions used in prior games like The First Campaign, Hoist The Blade With Pride In The Heart, The End of the Raging Waves etc are still good oftentimes the "FM" synths feel like they're holding them back, especially compared to the super arrange versions or the remade versions from the Untold duology or Nexus). I feel like Those That Slay and Fall gets a little shafted because as the series battle themes go the original is not particularly remarkable, but the instrumentation of the Super Arrange version does it so much good and then the new section added where the original would loop goes SO hard and makes it probably my favourite track in the series.

Oh hell yes, love me some Etrian Odyssey. Many fans consider EO3 to be the peak of the series (including the music), and let me tell you the super arrange is just the best. I've listened to it on it's own more times than I care to count. PS: I am once again recommending "Labyrinth V: Chalky Woods" from the same game and it's super arrange. It's kind of a shame how there's a couple of songs in the super arrange that combines two songs, since it makes this format a little harder unless you're willing to sit down and listen to three songs in a row, like with the iconic song "The End of the Raging Waves" being mixed with "That Fresh Blood is Thine or the Enemy's"

I love the super arrange for Those that Slay and Fall/Those Who Are Defeated because it starts like they were just playing the original with real instruments and then it just goes HAM after the interlude.

One of the best EO battle themes, hands down. God I'm getting sick of waiting for news on EO6. We haven't had any updates since a single trailer 4+ years ago. This is my favorite game series, so I'm dying for it to come back already.

If I'm not mistaken, the album is arranged by people other than the original composer, Yuzo Koshiro. I don't know if Koshiro had any input in how the arrangement should be made, but yeah. That being said, this Super Arrange Album is absolutely the best Super Arrange album of other series in my humble opinion. Every song in the album has something new to bring to the table while still being faithful to the original track in other parts. 'Their Own Brand of Justice" (official translation being Each Their Own Justice) follow similar arrangement pattern as this song, although that one has piano melody section instead of saxophone.

The original is, imo, one of the "weaker" tracks compared to the others (obviously still good and has it's own merits), but that Super Arrange made it unforgettable for me. I have no doubt whatsoever that I would have slowly forgotten about the track had the Super Arrange not gone as wild as it has. Edit, one year later: What the heck was I even saying, the og isn't weak

How does one make a double request like this?
@darkdeath3887 Жыл бұрын
Assuming you're in the tier that only provides 1 song per month, put in the description of the request that you want the song to be saved for a dual reaction request. For convenience's sake you could say (1/2) for a dual reaction. Then the month after, do the same with (2/2).

Ah yes, Those That Slay And Fall. There's probably a comment or two that says it's one of the weaker tracks of the game, and I'll go over why it is. Make no mistake, it's a good track. There is no bad track in EO3, every single one is an absolute banger. The problem with this track is that it overstays its welcome. Etrian Odyssey has a stratum-based progression, with each stratum being 5 floors long, and there being 6 strata in total (albeit one of them is postgame). EO3 is admittedly 4 floors every stratum, but makes up for it with every floor being *massive*, but that's neither here nor there. Etrian Odyssey games generally have three main battle themes: One for strata 1 to 3, one for the 4th and 5th strata for when things are getting more high-stakes, and one for the postgame stratum when the kid gauntlets are off. This track's problem is that it comes in as early as the third stratum, *and it is here to stay*. This makes it fairly easy to get tired of the track because there's no variation once it comes in. This is its biggest flaw.
