Reincarnation isn't a separate game. It's sort of an official arrangement album for Persona 4. (Persona 3 also had a Reincarnation album.) The girl in the thumbnail is related to the song, and all the context from the game makes the original version my favorite. The Persona Dancing games are rhythm games as you guessed, and their soundtracks are primarily remixes from the associated Persona game, including from a bunch of guest artists. So the genres end up varying wildly.

So, this song is significant because not only is it the theme for the dungeon that occurs at a turning point in the story, it's also the only Persona 4 dungeon theme with leading vocals. The Norihiko Hibino remix is my personal favourite, I just love how varied it is and how it goes from super chill to very upbeat.

I think Meguro wrote the lyrics himself for a while; he's not especially great at English which causes some lyrics to read a bit strangely, but at some point in P5's era, they got Lotus Juice to do a lot of lyric writing, and he's actually very fluent in English as you might be able to gather from his rap vocals.

One of the best tracks in the game. You are correct. P4D is a rhythm game where the characters dance in it. It actually has a full story and takes place after the main game. I was shocked how good the story actually was and the new character is super cute.

My favorite part about the moment in the game where this plays is that before this, the protagonist sort of felt seperate from all of the trouble and is just along for the ride. But this part is personal to the point where even the dialogue options become more harrowed and desperate

This was great! Yes, that is the singer for all the Persona 4 games/anime. Persona 3's singer is different, but 3 and 4 have had some crossover games (Persona Q and Arena games), so they have sung together for several tracks, and even did the 2nd intro for the Persona 4 anime.

Persona 4 Reincarnation is an album with some arrangements. "Never More -Reincarnation: Persona 4-" is the actual full name Also, Shihoko Hirata is only the singer. The Lyrics were written by Reiko Tanaka. Context as to when this music plays in-game: - Non Spoilery Version: it plays during the exploration of one of the dungeons - Spoilery Version: Dungeons are created from a character's psyche, basically, and this is the dungeon of Nanako, the little girl on the thumbnail and cousin to the protagonist. This dungeon is named Heaven and is heaven-themed, but it's also a weird case of being a double dungeon: it appears late into the game, when Nanako is abducted, and it's also the dungeon of the guy that abducted her. Spoiler: He's also a victim, as he was manipulated, and that's around the time when you can choose to close the case because you found the culprit, and end of the game, OR notice that there's something wrong, and reach the "true end", where you stop the actual culprit.

Also I'm sure folks have brought it up to you but I would LOOOOOVE to see you play Persona 4 Golden (the enhanced port) someday. Considering how you have handled Xenoblade in terms of avoiding spoilers and limiting viewer engagement, along side vocalizing your musings on the story and such, would make a very rewarding playthrough for fans of the series.

I can't choose a favorite from any of these either man. It's crazy how the dancing version still has those killer vocals yet STILL takes a backseat to everything surrounding them. The instrumentation just speaks to my soul man, but I also have that bias from the game for the OG (it's such an impactful song for such an impactful moment in the game). It blew me away when I finally made the connection, because the instrumentation is so damn similar to the tracks that circle around the VR missions from MGS2 Substance! I couldn't believe there was a connection between 2 of my favorite series

While I adore this song in all its incarnations, due to the context in which it plays in the original Persona 4, I always feel vaguely stressed out. It plays during a pivotal point in the story, and depending on your perspective this song is either a good way to alleviate the anxiety of the story, or an ironic counterpoint against a story point that is otherwise fairly upsetting.

There's actually one more official version of Heaven, which is my favorite version of the song. There's an album called Persona Music Live Band, where they rearranged songs from Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona Trinity Soul (an anime that came out between 3 and 4), and recorded them using a real band. This is actually my favorite version of most of the songs featured on that album. The Live Band mix of Heaven sounds similar to the original, but bigger, with more instruments.

I love that modern persona 3-5 all has color and musical themeing. Love that 3 is blue and hip-hop Love that 4 is yellow and pop Love that 5 is red and acid jazz It really gives each game such an identity but the series really has a connective musical identity from 3 onward. 1 and both entries for 2 also have great music but 3 is where they really started to slap a musical genre for each entry to build around. Makes me very excited for 6 to get announced so we offical know the color and can start to speculate on the what the music will be provided the reveal dosen't make it clear out the gate.

Spoiler Context : The girl on the image is Nanako, the younger cousin of the protagonist She lost her mom due to a hit and run, her dad a policeman go into depression and begin to overwork to compensate. Leaving the little girl alone that just sit in front of the tv for most time and take care of the house by herself. Near the end of the game she get kidnap and this is the ost for the dungeon to rescue her. Dungeon in this game kind of represent the state of mind of the person, something that they don't show to others, their "True Self". Basically she hide the fact that she miss her mom terribly, she was force to grew up too fast.
