To make things clear, interactions between cards are what they would say to each other if they met. Like Jack has never met Trundle obviously, but has an interaction with him. Aphelios doesn’t have to be in Ionia right now for Sett to have interactions with him, and since Diana went to Ionia at some point if Phel searched for her he might have bumped into Sett. Anyways it’s super cute and I’m glad they referenced it.

Look at Ahri and Yasuo, they were shipped and it didn't make much sense until they got their interactions within the Ruination lore. If the concern is about too many "gay" ships, then I don't know what to say because other than the 8 characters being Sett, Aphelios, Diana, Leona, Caitlyn, Vi, Ksante, and Nekko, I don't recognize as anyone else being part of the LGBT+ community.
