Couldn't you hook a piece of string on the roof of the airplane with a weight on the bottom and make a plumb bob to tell you if you are in level flight?

@@bobconnolly190 if you are flying upside down wouldn't the plum or weight be laying on the roof and if you are flying level and straight wouldn't the weight be at the bottom of the string?

That may be a Beechcraft, but that's NOT, a 'Bonanza'!!! Bonanzas didn't have, a vertical stabilizer!! It had two stabilizers, pitched at 45°, like a wide 'V'. The same plane subsequently, The Big Bopper, Richie Valens, and Buddy Holly died in, on Feb., 3rd., 1959.

Brother you should double check, Bonanzas does have V tail and conventional tail version. Im just annoyed that some details in the show were over-exaggerated

"No horizon to refer to"???? Are you some kind of nut??? I flew my Beechcraft Musketeer for many years using the artificial horizon in IFR conditions!!! "No sense of altitude"??? Does this plane not have an altimeter???? The pilots who crash because of disorientation were probably flying IFR when they are VFR pilots.
