It is an awesome feature, personally on my LYNX2600 I have the possibility for more than one reference position points (G30 P2, P3 etc). Is it possible to have many different reference position points as an option also in a milling machine? How many is the most?

Can someone please explain whats the advantage of having G53 G30 vs just having G53.

Sure. You will need G53 G30 when commanding a transfer axis (A or B) on a two spindle lathe (if there is an offset other than Zero in the work offset page). If the is an offset in the register for this Axis, the machine will go to work offset zero first, then go to G30 position. To be safe, I always use G53 G30 to send a transfer axis home.
