Hear me out: Skulk sensors detecting elytra flight, wind charges and teleporting - if they trigger, close all shulker boxes/chests by putting a block over them. To reopen, you have to go outside and press a button or something.

I'm not sure if wind charges can be checked specifically with sculk, but since they trigger redstone in a radius, a simple unreachable button close enough for a wind charge to press would suffice.

The pumpkins that get dumped on you should obviously be called Dumpkins.

And he could totally have a pumpkin farm minigame called Dumpkin Dash! You have to make your way through a zig-zag course as fast as possible, but there are rows of grown pumpkins blocking your path. You need to harvest them (with an axe) to get through. At the same time, pumpkin items are dropping randomly for you to pick up. At the end, you submit all your collected pumpkins, and your score is a combination of your time and the number of pumpkins you collected. It's self-farming, as submitting your score requires you to enter all your pumpkins into the system, and that point submission could also trigger a hopper minecart to collect any uncollected pumpkin items on the ground, meaning it's also lossless. Possibly that could also trigger some bone meal dispensers to instantly regrow the pumpkin obstacles? Could also have a small auto-pumpkin farm supplying the droppers, and just have this minigame for the fun 😁

Zed, you should add a regen beacon in the center of the shop so that people can enter your shop without burning to death. Just burning, not to death. 🐍 Also, have you considered replacing the stairs down into your stalag-shop with stalagmites of various heights?

The shops look so cool! I saw Gem's episode before yours so I first saw it fully done when she flew up without any of the WIP before hand. It broke my brain a bit, with it being mirrored above and below the glass and the dark background. It took a few seconds for my brain to stop trying to read it as something floating with a reflection in the glass even though I'd seen that kind of mirroring effect done before.

That has to be one of the coolest shop designs I’ve ever seen, the mirroring of them looks so good. It’s a bit of a shame that the stairs leading down to the drip stone stick out so much, do you think it’d still work if that was replaced by glass too?

If you wanted to make the shop entrance redstone-ified, you could use powdered snow (dispensed from a dispenser or something), and when the player walks into the snow while on fire, the snow will melt (which triggers an observer), then you could use pistons or other redstone doohickeys to lower the gate. Just a suggestion in case any of the hermits struggle with that fire jump!

I watched gem's episode and an idea that could possibly be used for the exit is to perhaps raise the floor on the inside of the shop (or perhaps just a row of slabs against the wall) therefore you still have to light yourself on fire to get IN to the shop but you can easily just hop the fence on the way out! loved the episode zed! you had a classic dig down of the day and dug yourself straight into trouble XDD

you can make a secret entrance to the dripstone shop by just digging the block under the magma shulkers, because if you stand on top of a shulker while opening it will allow you to go through the shulker.

Have you thought of any way to gamefy the villagers? If not, maybe you could do something with them dropping from above into a hole below (like a waterfall), and you have to identify which villagers are the right ones to trade with and trade in time before they fall past you. The fact that they’re on chickens means they wouldn’t take fall damage and would fall fairly slowly.

4:16 - What if you made a basketball game? You use wind charges to get airborne and try to toss a pumpkin in a hopper. And to move around (without breaking the "traveling" rule) you have to toss the pumpkin on the ground and move it by throwing wind charges at it, then recollect it?

I think there needs to be an upper wall which completely seals off the shop, but it retracts upwards when a calibrated skulk sensor detects someone taking damage.

I thought the sound of damage would proc a calibrated sculk sensor to enter... but I guess this works, too, haha. You might need the observer/dispenser "keep fire always on" circuit :D And the mirror effect is really nice!

I love the trade supply depot and the shop, you are always a delight Zed ^.^ One thought, if you're in the mood for suggestions. The shop looks very floaty which is amazing, but the bridges kinda detract a bit. I wonder if it might help to make them look like rickety rope and wood hanging bridges, or floaty stone could do too, just something to continue the illusion. Anyway, I love your work, you alway put a smile on my face, keep up the good work

I love the idea of having to be on fire to get in. But maybe just tweak the doorway a bit. Replace these blocks on each side with a top slab So there is no spot in the door you can't get inside from. Or something like that.

you don't need to fill the entire hopper stack with pumpkins. as long as 1 slot has them its enough to put some alternating filler items in the rest of the slots so you can save on pumpkins
